Having been a frequent patron when they were still in Joo Chiat, I decided to visit their new (and only) branch in town. Ordering was quick via the kiosk, and seating was plentiful in the morning. Some points:
1. The fried egg is not as good as before, when it would be nicely fried with crispy edges. The current fried egg I had seems to have been mass-prepared beforehand and was hard/dry. They also no longer have the option of the hard-boiled egg, which I absolutely love with nasi lemak.
2. The rice was less tasty than before – I could hardly taste any santan in it, and at times it was like having plain white rice.
3. They’ve replaced the sweeter Japanese cucumbers with thick slices of regular cucumbers. One piece I bit into was a little bitter as well.
4. The Kopi O kosong, at $3.10, is not worth the money. It was weak and not aromatic at all, not worth the price, in my opinion.
The positive points were that the Ayam berempah is still as good – crispy and crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The sambal was still very good and spicy, with generous portions of it, as well as peanuts and ikan bilis. And the provision of seating is welcome, instead of having to pack it to go.
All in all, slightly above average for their chicken, but I likely would not travel down for it anymore, unlike with their previous outlet in Joo Chiat.

We tried the beef rendang and boneless chicken thigh, but unfortunately, the overall dishes fell flat in terms of flavor and fragrance. While the beef rendang was tender, the depth of flavor that typically defines the dish just wasn't there. The boneless chicken thigh was quite ordinary and slightly dry; some added juiciness could really elevate it. Even the rice and chili lacked the aroma and punch needed to tie everything together.

Lunch with my colleagues at Dickson Nasi Lemak; it was our first time trying it. Honestly, a bit disappointed. The coconut rice and chicken were cold, and the boneless chicken was covered in a thick layer of flour, making it quite dry. The sambal was more on the sweet side, which isn’t really my preference. Was hoping for better, especially with all the hype.
