A decent crispy Nasi Ayam stall located in the Army market food court. An affordable option for lunch in the area. Service was super friendly. However, I wished the rice and chicken had more flavour. They were pretty bland, and the chilli didn't help much. I'll try other things on the menu next time though.

Nothing to shout about; the chicken and the chilli were so-so only, but the chicken rice was fragrant. It felt like a waste of my time going there. My place in Toa Payoh is much better.

Early morning stall owner already well prepared to serve. First time trying their fried penyet chick
The stall owner was well-prepared to serve even in the early morning. This was my first time trying their fried penyet chicken rice, opting for a quarter portion of chicken thighs. The serving size was quite generous for the fair price of $5.50. The owner was polite and served with a great smile.
As for the fried penyet chicken, I personally found it had good crispy skin and tender meat. Unfortunately, the taste was slightly less flavourful than it looked. After taking it away, the rice became quite oily and greasy, and the chilli wasn't fantastic enough to enhance the overall taste.
It's definitely not the best, nor a must-eat dish. However, with good service attitude and reasonable pricing, it deserves support.

There are a few choices of Ayam Penyet. I chose the leg part. The whole chicken leg was smashed/flattened (that's what 'penyet' means), but it was further chopped into small strips. The chopping seemed a bit unnecessary as there were broken bone bits when I was trying to eat the chicken.
Taste-wise, it's acceptable. I think the chicken would taste better if it were warmer. Perhaps they should use a heating device or flash-fry the chicken before serving.
I also think the chili could be better.
