Halal Food in #01-01
Located in the heart of Kampong Glam, this building sits along one of Singapore's most culturally significant streets. Arab Street has long been a vibrant commercial hub since the 1820s, when it served as a bustling trading centre for textiles, spices and rattan products. The area was named after Arab merchant Syed Ali bin Mohamed Al Junied, who played a key role in the district's development. Today, the shophouses along Arab Street remain protected under conservation guidelines, preserving the architectural heritage of the district. Built between 1840 and 1900, these first-generation shophouses feature distinctive squat two-storey designs with one or two windows on the upper floor. The Kampong Glam conservation area, gazetted by the Urban Redevelopment Authority in 1989, continues to draw visitors seeking authentic cultural experiences and traditional crafts alongside contemporary cafes and boutiques.
