Halal Food in Beo Crescent

Beo Crescent Food Centre is a mid-size hawker centre with 33 stalls tucked away in the tranquil Bukit Ho Swee residential area, serving as another beloved foodie gem near the more famous Tiong Bahru Food Centre. Opened in 1965, the single-floor establishment exudes a vintage, old-timey feel complete with pastel tones and an analogue clock at the entrance. Its aisles are lined with a good mix of old-school vendors, some plying their trade for decades, alongside newer faces including a former Din Tai Fung chef. Chef Wang Fried Rice at stall 01-71 is helmed by a hawker who previously worked at Shang Palace at Shangri-La Singapore and Din Tai Fung, bringing restaurant-quality techniques to hawker prices. Nan Yuan Fishball Noodle is one of the food centre most popular stalls, with queues to match its reputation. Other notable stalls include Hai Chew Fish Soup known for fresh fish and Tom Yam fish soup, Heng Heng Cooked Food offering fried carrot cake, and Loi Kee Cooked Food serving briny and umami-rich prawn noodles. The food centre underwent renovation in 1998, receiving improvements while maintaining its nostalgic character. Located at 38A Beo Crescent in the mature Tiong Bahru estate, Beo Crescent Food Centre continues to serve generations of residents with a diverse range of traditional and affordable hawker fare.
