Halal Food in Chinese Garden MRT Station
Chinese Garden MRT Station (EW25) is an elevated station on the East West Line, strategically positioned in the Jurong Lake District alongside Boon Lay Way, next to the scenic Jurong Lake. First announced in May 1982 as Jurong Lake station, it was renamed Chinese Garden in 1984 to better reflect its proximity to the iconic Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden attractions. The station commenced operations on 5 November 1988 as part of Phase II of the MRT expansion. The station architectural design pays homage to its namesake, featuring a distinctive curved roof inspired by traditional Chinese architecture. This ethnic design element was intentionally incorporated to create a visual connection with the nearby Chinese Garden, giving the station a unique cultural identity that distinguishes it from other East West Line stations. The thoughtful design enhances the journey experience for visitors heading to the gardens. Operating daily from 5:16 am to 12:27 am under SMRT Trains management, Chinese Garden station maintains efficient train frequencies of 2.5 to 5 minutes throughout the day. Positioned between Jurong East and Lakeside stations, it serves the surrounding area through three exits providing access to key community facilities including Jurong Primary School, Fuhua Secondary School, Jurong East Sports Centre, and the Jurong East Neighbourhood Police Centre. The station serves as the primary gateway for both locals and tourists visiting the twin Chinese and Japanese gardens, making it a popular stop for weekend recreational activities.
