I tried the Nasi Rawon and Nasi Ambeng at this outlet and was thoroughly disappointed. As one of the first customers just as the stall opened around 10am+, I expected everything to be fresh. Instead, both meals came with sambal goreng and begedil that tasted stale — baffling, considering the stall had just opened.
Curious, I also ordered the Kuah Rawon Tetelan, hoping for that rich, earthy pangium (buah keluak) flavour. Sadly, the soup fell flat; it was more like a generic beef broth than authentic rawon. The lack of depth and aroma was a real letdown.
While the male hawker was friendly, the food simply didn’t deliver. Puzzling quality, underwhelming flavour, and far from what these traditional dishes should taste like. I won’t be returning.

Had the chicken takeaway as the beef was sold out. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and the dish was piping hot when I reached home. I don't really like the smell of the leaf though. Pretty meh for me, but can try again. The dish did not wow me. There was one chicken drumstick in the bamboo rice.

I stopped by this food stall expecting a delicious serving of bamboo nasi rendang, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark. The rendang sauce was nothing to shout about, and the portion of meat was disappointingly small. Yes, small.
I felt like I was paying for a plate of rice with a token amount of meat on top.
Speaking of rice, there was way too much of it. The meat-to-rice ratio was way off, and I ended up leaving some rice on the plate.
Given the price, I expected a more generous serving of meat and a better balance of flavors. Unfortunately, this stall fell short of my expectations. Additionally, there was no acar or any vegetables on the side.
Overall, it was an okay meal, but not worth repeating.

Seasoned meat with Basmati rice, wrapped in Phrynium leaves (柊叶) and cooked inside bamboo. The rice is light, fluffy, and fragrant, but the chicken was a bit dry. Overall, still good.

Initially, I wanted to try the Rendang Beef Nasi Bamboo, but unfortunately, it was sold out close to 6 pm that day. I opted for take-away of the rusuk (rib) instead.
The rice was wrapped using pandan leaf, which made every grain of rice really fragrant and rich in flavour. There were no clumps at all. The rib was succulent and well-cooked; it literally peeled off the bone effortlessly. The piece of fat was a bonus as it enhanced the taste of the meal without overpowering it.
The rendang gravy was slightly underwhelming for my taste, however, it still went well with the rice and meat.
For take-away, the dish was further wrapped using aluminium foil, which kept it warm until I got home.
The uncle manning the store was extremely friendly too!

Ordered the nasi rendang ayam cooked in bamboo and it was seriously good! It was just basmati rice, chicken, and curry, but well worth the price. The rice was so fragrant and absorbed the flavor of the banana leaf well. The chicken was so tender and really went well with the rendang. I've tried something similar in JB, but this is better!

It was basmati rice for the nasi lemak, and the surprise was a freshly fried big omelette and hot chicken wing. The ikan bilis and peanuts were fresh, not like those mass-produced ones. No wonder they took a little longer to prepare. Next time, I will try the ikan nasi lemak.
