Bedok One Hokkien Prawn Mee operates as a halal-certified noodle specialist strategically located within the Kopitiam food court at Fernvale Community Club, 21 Sengkang West Ave, #03-15, Singapore 797650, serving the growing residential community of Sengkang and Fernvale with authentic Hokkien-style prawn noodles adapted to meet strict halal dietary requirements. This establishment has successfully addressed a significant gap in Singapore's halal dining landscape by offering traditional Hokkien prawn mee without the usual pork and lard components, instead creating rich, flavorful broths and noodle preparations using halal-certified ingredients and cooking methods that maintain the essential "wok hei" (breath of the wok) and umami depth that define quality Hokkien mee experiences. The restaurant's location within Fernvale Community Club ensures convenient access for local residents, families, and community center visitors who seek authentic Chinese-style noodle dishes that comply with Islamic dietary guidelines, providing an essential dining option in the rapidly developing Sengkang-Fernvale corridor where halal food choices continue to expand alongside population growth.
Bedok One Hokkien Prawn Mee specializes in the wet-style preparation of Hokkien prawn mee, featuring thick yellow noodles and bee hoon rice vermicelli stir-fried in a rich, savory prawn-based broth that achieves remarkable depth of flavor through careful preparation of prawn shells, aromatic vegetables, and halal-certified seasonings, served with fresh prawns, tender squid, bean sprouts, and other traditional accompaniments that create a satisfying and authentic noodle experience. Customer reviews consistently praise the establishment as "legitimately one of the best hokkien prawn mee" available, particularly noting the satisfying chewy texture of the noodles, the freshness and succulence of the seafood components, and the careful balance of savory and umami flavors that characterize exceptional Hokkien mee preparation, though diners acknowledge the absence of traditional pork belly and fried lard due to halal requirements. The restaurant also offers additional dishes such as char kway teow and carrot cake, with typical pricing around for a serving with two pieces of prawns, positioning itself as an affordable option for families and individuals seeking quality halal Chinese noodle dishes in the Sengkang area.
The establishment's halal certification represents a significant achievement in adapting traditional Chinese noodle cuisine to meet Islamic dietary requirements while maintaining the authentic flavors and cooking techniques that define quality Hokkien prawn mee, providing Muslim families with access to beloved Chinese culinary traditions that were previously unavailable in halal form. Bedok One Hokkien Prawn Mee's success in creating genuine Hokkien mee experiences without compromising halal standards has established the restaurant as a pioneer in halal Chinese cuisine, demonstrating that traditional cooking methods and authentic flavors can be preserved while adapting to religious dietary requirements. The restaurant's integration into Fernvale Community Club's dining facilities, combined with its consistent quality standards and unique position as one of Singapore's premier halal Hokkien mee specialists, has positioned Bedok One Hokkien Prawn Mee as both a neighborhood dining destination and a significant contributor to Singapore's expanding halal Chinese food landscape that serves the evolving needs of Muslim families seeking diverse and authentic culinary experiences.

It's hard to find a good plate of white carrot cake these days, especially from a stall that also fries Hokkien noodles, Kway Teow, and other dishes. Many younger cooks just don't know the technique for good old-school fried carrot cake and prepare a standard version with chilli dumped on one side, plus a fried egg and white radish.

There are $5.50, $9, and $11 price points. I asked what the difference was between the $9 and $11 options, but the counter lady couldn't tell me. So, I ordered the $11 one. It was then packed in paper instead of a container, which I saw other people's Grab takeaways were in. The cashier lady then said I never asked for it, and she also never asked what packaging I'd like.
As for the portion sizes, please see the photo for your reference. I don't think there's any difference from other $5 Hokkien mee I buy from other stores; it's just the same.

This is the Fernvale hawker outlet. I ordered fried kway teow and fried carrot cake (white). I asked for both with chilli, but the chilli was just placed on the side. I have never eaten fried kway teow nor fried carrot cake with the chilli served separately. It was a real disappointment with the food.

Ordered Hokkien mee from the Grab app at 7pm, with an estimated delivery time of 8:40pm. At 8:40pm, the restaurant cancelled my order, stating it couldn't be fulfilled. If they couldn't fulfil it, why accept the order in the first place? Many shops are closed now. This was a total waste of my time.

One of the worst CKT I've ever tried. Kinda wasted $4. No wok hei and tasted very similar to the Guo Tiao Mian at any Economy Bee Hoon stall. Probably CKT is not their forte.

Delicious Hokkien Mee that is surprisingly halal-certified, proving that a solid prawn-based broth can work very well! Portions and prices are reasonable. Expect some wait on weekends.

This is at the Kopitiam on level 2 of Fernvale Community Centre. The Hokkien prawn mee is decent, the wet kind. It comes with 2 pieces of prawns for $5. The chilli is also good. The carrot cake is slightly crispy. While there might be better options available, this is decent enough for me. The carrot cake was served first, followed by the Hokkien mee. It's good that they served the carrot cake first and then reused the same pager to call for the Hokkien mee. The wait time for the Hokkien mee was around 15-20 minutes at 7 pm, during peak dinnertime. This place is also Halal, by the way, as they don't use pork. I was surprised when the staff asked me to return at the Halal section.

I wouldn't travel specifically for this fried hokkien mee, but it's certainly a good 3.5 ⭐️ option when you're in the vicinity. Firstly, I think it's good value for money for a $5 portion, and the service was fast even during peak dinner time. The noodles were served with the light/orangey coloured chilli, but I asked for the darker sambal type, which I always prefer. Competent!

Chanced upon this stall and decided to try their HKM. OMG, it’s so flavorful and has the right level of wok hei. One of the best HKM I've had. Even though it had dried up a little because of takeaway, it still tasted fantastic. The sambal complements the overall taste very well. This will be my must-eat the next time I visit Fernvale Hawker Centre again!
