Bites & Brews marks Shanghai's entry into Singapore's cafe scene, bringing eight years of experience from China to the charming Joo Chiat neighbourhood. Located at 15 Crane Road, this establishment represents the brand's first international outpost, offering a relaxed, resort-like atmosphere that sets it apart from typical cafes.

The interior design draws inspiration from Peranakan heritage, featuring intricate windows and cupboards reminiscent of traditional Peranakan homes. This aesthetic choice creates a fitting backdrop for the cafe's location in Joo Chiat, an area known for its rich Peranakan culture and heritage shophouses.

Bites & Brews specialises in fusion cuisine that epitomises the "East meets West" concept. Their signature Mapo Tofu Lasagna at $21 showcases this innovative approach, replacing traditional ground meat with Sichuan meat and tofu ragu. Other notable offerings include the Lamb Shawarma Benedict at $28, Jian Bing Breakfast Burrito, and the B&B Cheeseburger at $28. The menu brings bold flavours and spices to brunch and dinner services, distinguishing itself from more conventional cafe fare.

Operating Tuesday through Friday from 11am to 10pm, Saturdays from 10am to midnight, and Sundays from 10am to 10pm, the cafe caters to different meal times with separate brunch and dinner menus. The establishment has attracted attention for its daring fusion combinations and atmospheric setting, though diners should note that execution can occasionally vary.
