Buttrmilk operated as a halal-certified Southern-style fried chicken and waffles eatery at KINEX mall in Paya Lebar, launched by the team behind Fatburger and 800° Woodfired Kitchen as part of Deelish Brands' American food concept portfolio. Opening in late 2021, Buttrmilk brought Nashville-inspired flavours to Singapore with chicken marinated for 24 hours in secret spice blends before frying fresh to order, paired with signature buttermilk waffles that balanced sweet and savoury elements.

The menu showcased "The Original Buttrmilk" combo uniting crispy fried chicken with fluffy waffles, alongside fried chicken sandwiches and drumstick-and-thigh combinations that emphasised quality over volume. The halal certification enabled Muslim diners to access American Southern cuisine traditionally inaccessible due to pork and alcohol prevalence in authentic preparations. Reviewers particularly praised the seasoning blend that differentiated Buttrmilk's chicken from generic fried chicken offerings, with some declaring it among Singapore's best despite the crowded fried chicken market.

Buttrmilk expanded briefly to a Shaw House food court location before ceasing operations in 2023-2024 as Deelish Brands shuttered its Singapore franchises. The closure reflected challenges facing American fast-casual imports in Singapore's competitive F&B landscape, where even quality products struggle against established players, rental costs, and fickle consumer loyalty. While short-lived, Buttrmilk demonstrated appetite for halal Southern American cuisine and proper execution of chicken-and-waffles, though insufficient to sustain business amid Singapore's brutal restaurant economics where many concepts fail despite initial buzz and genuine culinary merit.
