Kacang Pool Special at SingPost Centre

Kacang Pool Special has established itself as one of the top destinations for this traditional Middle Eastern-influenced breakfast dish in Singapore's halal food scene. Located at Eunos Crescent Market and Food Centre, Block 4A Eunos Crescent, this Muslim-owned stall serves generous portions of kacang pool for just $4.00, making it an affordable and filling way to start the day.

The dish centres on mashed fava or broad beans, cooked until creamy with a rich, savoury flavour that comes from slow cooking with spices and aromatics. What sets Kacang Pool Special apart is their execution - achieving the right balance between smooth and slightly coarse textures that gives the dish character. Each plate is topped with a freshly fried egg featuring a slightly runny yolk, which when broken, enriches the beans with additional creaminess and richness.

The accompaniments complete the experience - sliced onions add sharpness, chilli provides heat for those who want it, and French bread serves as the perfect vehicle for scooping up the flavourful beans. This combination creates a hearty meal that sustains energy throughout the morning, explaining why kacang pool has become a beloved breakfast staple across Singapore's Malay and Muslim communities.

Operating from Eunos Crescent hawker centre, the stall benefits from morning traffic of residents seeking breakfast before work or school. The dish's rich, savoury profile makes it satisfying as a filling snack throughout the day as well, though it's most popular during breakfast hours when the aroma of fresh kacang pool draws regular customers.
