We went there just for tea ☕. They said, “Only takeaway is allowed during lunchtime. We don’t want people sitting for an hour for just ₹2.50.” What a policy! As if we have no other work in life but to sit there. By the way, the whole restaurant was almost empty. Still, such an attitude. Great service for a great price!

I was disappointed that the lunch set ended early, before 3:30 PM. The food was pretty good; the mutton was tender but a little on the salty side. I wish I had received a bucket of curry instead of the small dish. Everything else was fine, but the curry lacked the deep flavour that usually makes my taste buds dance when eating biryani.
By the way, I'm on a quest to try Singapore's best biryani in 2025!
*Update: I tried eating there again, and the owner was very rude to me.

We ordered the food to go. The chicken biryani was really yummy and fragrant, one of the best we have tasted. The butter chicken was creamy and tasty. We really enjoyed the garlic naan and gobi manchurian. Overall, my hubby and I enjoyed our meal tremendously. We will definitely come back for more. The service was also very friendly and warm.

Authentic Indian food with great service.
The chicken tikka was very flavourful and tender. Gobi Manchurian totally didn’t have a raw cauliflower taste. The lamb shank portion was great with amazing biryani rice. The butter chicken masala was great too, but I really loved the bean-based masala. Garlic naan was amazing too.
You can customise according to spice levels. I love that they replace your plate with a brand new set of utensils in between dishes. Very patient and friendly staff too. Very good service.

A Hidden Gem at Paya Lebar Square

Tucked away on the ground floor of Paya Lebar Square is a modest eatery that seems to be a favourite among nearby office-goers. My partner happened to have lunch there and couldn't stop raving about the food when he returned home. I might have dismissed it as just another decent meal—until he brought out an untouched takeaway box of ghee rice. Curious, I opened it for a quick sniff and taste before putting it in the fridge. One spoonful was enough—I told him we were going back that very evening for dinner.
Ambience:
The place is small, clean, and unpretentious. It has a cozy, casual vibe, with a few families enjoying dinner. Nothing fancy, but welcoming nonetheless.
Service:
There weren’t many servers around, but the person who attended to us was friendly and attentive. I didn’t catch his name, though we exchanged a bit of small talk. Still, I’d like to thank him for his excellent recommendations.
Food:
We ordered a breadbasket with assorted naans, parathas, and rotis—all soft and a great match with the accompanying dishes. The Chatpata Paneer was creamy with a pleasant tang and mild heat. The Keema was rich and flavorful—spiced just right without being overwhelmingly hot. The Butter Chicken stood out as one of the best I’ve had in a while, striking a perfect balance between creaminess, tomato, and spices—not too sweet, not too sour. Just right.
For drinks, we tried the Mango Lassi, which came recommended by my partner’s colleague. Personally, I felt it could’ve been a bit sweeter, though I suspect it’s more about the mango-yogurt balance than the sugar content—possibly not made fresh. The Orange Juice was refreshing and well-received. The Vanilla Milkshake, however, was overly sweet and lacked richness.
They offer an extensive menu of Indian dishes, and I’m already looking forward to going back to try more.

Spice, Soul, and 17 Years of Flavor at Madura's Restaurant ️
Madura's has been a hidden gem in Singapore for over 17 years, serving a delicious blend of North and South Indian cuisine with a unique Asian fusion twist. Every visit feels like a celebration of bold spices and comforting flavors that truly awaken the taste buds.
The soup selections are downright addictive—rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. But the real star? The briyani. It’s so popular, I couldn’t even score a portion tonight! Clearly, it’s a crowd favorite for a reason. No worries though—I’ll definitely be coming back earlier next time to claim my spot.
If you're craving hearty Indian flavors with a creative twist, Madura’s should be at the top of your list. Authentic, vibrant, and worth every bite.
