The restaurant specializes in their famous Ginger Fried Chicken Rice, which features a subtle but wonderfully fragrant ginger infusion that creates a distinctive culinary experience. Their menu offers various options including standard portions at .50 with crispy fried chicken and rice, Ginger Fried Chicken Leg with Rice for .50, and additional sides like fried tofu (/bin/bash.50) and stir-fried vegetables (). The establishment is particularly known for their fried chicken giblets (empedal) including chicken neck, liver, gizzard, and bishop's nose, which are extremely popular and often sell out quickly. They also offer fried chicken skin as an add-on for , providing excellent value for their halal fried chicken rice offerings.

What distinguishes Mat Noh & Rose from other chicken rice stalls is their use of long-grain basmati rice, which provides a pillowy texture that perfectly complements the crispy fried elements and their excellent spicy soy sauce. Over-hyped by social media posts. Difficult to eat with hands as the rice was hard, probably Basmati rice. Asked for tempeh add-on, but was given only little bits for an extra $1.00. There really is no fragrance in the rice and no enjoyment other than the crispy chicken batter. Definitely not authentic Singapore Chicken Rice. The soup doesn't have that Soto flavour, and the chilli was utterly disappointing; it was definitely that instant big bottle chilli.

This place is raved about so much by reviewers and people around me. However, my experience was really very much below par. Food: 3/5 Rice was nice, soft with a mild fragrance. The chicken, however, was most disappointing. I ordered the thigh part, but as I was watching the man chop the entire thigh (with drumstick), he basically took away the majority of the flesh from the thigh. At that moment, I wasn’t sure if I should have ordered the drumsticks instead. The chicken was crispy but was definitely not flavourful. After finishing the entire plate, I was still left feeling only half full. Service: 4/5 A straightforward food stall. My expectation is that as long as I don’t get screamed at, it’s a 4/5. Honestly, I don’t get the hype and of course, will not be back.

Very tasty, all flavours were excellent, from the rice, chicken, condiment sambal, kecap manis, and soup. The chicken skin and chicken gizzard were also very good! A happy tummy for just around SGD 5.5. The chicken and rice itself is SGD 4.5, but you must try their chicken skin for SGD 1-2, depending on whether you want it as a separate package. Yums!

Always raved about by others! The chicken is crispy and tender, with flavorful rice. You can always add on chicken skin if you love that. A solid 4/5 – overall very satisfying and not too expensive.

Mat Noh & Rose Authentic Ginger Fried Chicken Rice Open: 9am to 3pm Closed: Sun & Mon 91 Whampoa Drive #01-27 Whampoa Makan Place Block 91 S320091 We are always on the lookout for good halal chicken rice stalls and had long heard of this stall that serves one of a kind 'Fried Chicken Rice'. Finally, we satisfied our cravings. We had 2 plates at $4.50 each and added tau kwa at $0.50 each. High praise for their rice because it's so fragrant and flavourful, with each grain cooked just right and, best of all, not oily. The fried chicken is well-marinated with special spices, topped with eye-catching orangy crispy crumbs. All meals come with a bowl of flavourful chicken soup. We like the black chili sauce; it's very spicy but very shiok!! Definitely one of the best fried chicken rice!! We will be back and are gonna get that chicken skin sides next!!

Waited a long time even though the queue was short, as many customers were each taking away several packets and were sitting at the sides. The chicken rice was value for money, but the overall taste was rather underwhelming. Friendly auntie.
