Nasi Ambeng Nenek Leng

Nasi Ambeng Nenek Leng opened in 2018 at Golden Mile Food Centre as a heartfelt tribute to owner Roanny's late grandmother, whose recipes form the foundation of every dish served. The family-run stall keeps things simple, focusing on nasi ambeng sets in various sizes, all prepared from scratch daily with Roanny's mother beginning preparations as early as 2am.

Nasi ambeng, a traditional Javanese-Malay dish, typically features rice served with multiple accompaniments on a shared platter for communal dining during festive occasions. Nasi Ambeng Nenek Leng adapts this for individual servings while maintaining the dish's spirit through signature sides including sambal goreng, rendang, paru (beef lung), and the crowd-favourite thin, crispy fried salted fish.

Operating Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm (closed Sundays), the stall caters to lunch and early dinner crowds at Golden Mile Food Centre along Beach Road. The location serves office workers from nearby buildings and residents from the Kallang area seeking authentic Javanese-Malay flavours.

The dedication to scratch preparation and family recipes passed through generations ensures each plate honours Nenek Leng's culinary legacy while introducing younger Singaporeans to traditional Javanese cuisine.
