The uncle and auntie at the noodle stall are EXTREMELY RUDE. I couldn't even hear what he was saying behind the glass. While the food is cheap, the serving is very small. The food taste is so-so only. I will not patronize them again. There's no need to be so rude. DO NOT BUY from this stall!

One thing this canteen stood out for is the patch of vegetation at its circular edge. The place cooled significantly during a heavy downpour, but the food brought warmth to my body. I had just finished my breakfast when I noticed two workers blowing, sweeping, and gathering dry leaves into mounds within the green area. I observed them closely; they literally swept up fallen leaves, almost every single piece! This wasn't easy due to the surrounding shrubs and trees. Their meticulous work truly won my admiration I spoke to one of them, and they mentioned needing to do this thrice a week. However, to the NTU facilities manager, perhaps this isn't necessary so often. Maybe once a week would suffice? The fallen leaves actually added a dimension of "beauty" to the area!

Cheap and Good food Fried Rice with Prawn Paste Chicken($4.50) Tasty. Delicious. Mala Prawn Paste

Cheap and Good Food Fried Rice with Prawn Paste Chicken ($4.50) Tasty and delicious. Mala Prawn Paste Pao Fan ($6) A good spicy pao fan. Prawn Mee (L) ($3.30) Generous amount of prawn, vegetables, and fishcake. Savoury, prawny soup. Nasi Padang ($5.10) A delicious meal. It looks spicy but isn't. Contains Basmati Rice, Sambal Goreng Tahu Tempe, Stir Fry Kambing, Sambal Long Bean, and Acar Timun. Mala Maggi Goreng Dry Pot ($12.30) Fragrant, tasty, and savoury-sweet with a low spiciness level, almost like no spice. Eaten with friends who can't handle spicy food well. The numbness made it hard to taste much. Overall, it's a satisfying bowl of Mala pot. The price is quite reasonable too, with many options. Nice. Bak Chor Mee ($2.50 (S) / $3.30 (L)) Not only is the price cheap, but the noodles are also great. Savoury, springy noodles with the right amount of vinegary taste, topped with soft and juicy mushrooms and plenty of meaty minced meat. Get the large bowl for extra ingredients. Chicken Chop ($3.80) with Spaghetti ($4.80) When you're on a budget but want to eat Western food too, all you need is $5 to fill your stomach. A standard chicken chop with meat on the tougher and dryer side, and slightly charred skin, covered with black pepper sauce, making it quite decent. Comes with pre-mix mashed potato (I guess) and garden green salad. As for the spaghetti, it's al dente and drenched with a choice of sauce from two options: Chicken Bolognese - Tomato-based with a strong herb taste and minced chicken. Surprisingly nice. Cream of Mushroom - Your safe option. Grilled Fish with Spaghetti ($5) Soft, tender, silky fish with lightly grilled skin, flooded with your choice of sauce, and served with garden salad.

The bak chor mee stall sells bak chor mee, lor mee, fish ball noodles, and prawn noodles. The queue can get long during peak hours (11:30 AM - 1 PM). If you visit the stall often, the uncle will remember your usual order. He's generally nice, but can sometimes be short-tempered when the queue is very long. To make ordering easier and more flexible, you can tell the uncle: 1. Portion size: small or large (you can add noodles and/or ingredients, and specify which ones). The more you add, the higher the price, but it's very worth it. 2. Type of noodles: mee pok, mee kia, mi fen, huang mian, lao shu fen, cu mi fen (you can point if you're unsure of the name). 3. Spicy or not spicy. 4. Hidden menu options: dried version or wet version. During semester breaks, the bak chor mee stall might switch to other dishes like fried kway teow, hokkien mee, and wa tan hor, with a minimum order of $4. PS: Wa tan hor is no longer available, but fried kway teow and hokkien mee are offered during the school semester, and you don't need to queue for them.

I love the prawn noodles here! They are authentic, with a rich prawn broth that's bursting with flavor. The portion size is generous; a medium bowl costs $3.30 and a large bowl is priced at $3.80. Highly recommended.
