Nour Family brings Middle Eastern and Lebanese culinary traditions to Singapore's diverse halal dining scene. The name "Nour," meaning "light" in Arabic, reflects the warmth and hospitality central to Middle Eastern dining culture, where sharing mezze and grilled meats forms the foundation of social gatherings.

Lebanese cuisine's emphasis on fresh ingredients, bold spices, and communal eating translates well to Singapore's food culture. Typical offerings likely include hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel, shawarma, mixed grills, and rice dishes like mandi or kabsa. These preparations showcase the aromatic spice blends and cooking techniques that have made Middle Eastern food globally popular.

The family aspect suggested by the name indicates a personal, intimate approach to hospitality rather than corporate chain operations. Family-run Middle Eastern restaurants often pride themselves on authentic recipes passed down through generations, maintaining traditional preparations while adapting portion sizes and presentations for local preferences.

For Singapore's Muslim community, Lebanese and Middle Eastern cuisine offers familiar flavours with guaranteed halal compliance, providing comfortable dining options. The cuisine also appeals to non-Muslim diners seeking healthy, flavourful alternatives to typical Asian or Western fare.

The Nasi Goreng Kampung is authentic. This dish is a delightful fusion of spices and textures, topped generously with crispy ikan bilis that adds a satisfying crunch. The keropok served alongside is not just for decoration; it's delightfully crispy and enhances the overall experience. The Kari Ayam deserves a special mention—it’s rich and flavorful, with the perfect balance of creaminess. I’d rate it a solid 5+/5. I also spotted the Mee Goreng Ayam at Nour Family stall, which looks equally tempting. I can't wait to try it on my next visit!

Ordered the chicken penyet rice. The chicken was big, and the tofu, tempeh, and fresh vegetables were delicious and spicy. The rice smelled good too. Next time, you have to try the other menu items. The mother is very friendly.

Yesterday, during Children's Day, I tried the nasi ayam with black pepper for lunch, which cost $4.50. I took SMRT bus service 61 from my workplace at SingPost Kallang Delivery Base, near Bendemeer MRT station exit A, to Geylang Bahru near Block 68. The rice, the soup, and the black pepper chicken tasted very delicious with a beautiful aromatic flavour. I would like to try these nasi ayam dishes from other food centres in the future.

Price is okay, the sambal belacan was powerful, sambal goreng was also powerful, and the kuah was powerful, all for less than $6.00. However, please cook the chicken thoroughly. The chicken was still raw, which is very irritating. I couldn't even cut the chicken.
