A popular place that's crowded during lunchtime. Reservations are recommended. Food is not bad, but service is average, likely due to a lack of staff considering the large crowd. The dishes were a little spicy but yummy, especially the vegetable dishes with various sauces. We got the set meal for a group of 5-6 people but were super full afterwards, even though it was meant for 7 people. It's very crowded with big groups, but personally, I'd only recommend it for small groups of 4 people max. As their sets all consist of many regular-sized small dishes rather than large dishes for bigger group sets, it's hard to share when you have a group larger than 4. Even for 6-7 people, we couldn't portion out some of the dishes satisfactorily. Plus, you'd need to keep passing around the dishes as the tables are all long, which is understandable as they aren't a Chinese restaurant with round tables.

After a few years' gap, I revisited this place with friends. I was quite disappointed that the food quality has dropped a lot. Perhaps due to inflation, they have tweaked the ingredients. The fish type used for Otah Fish has changed. The fried bean curd eggs are no longer tasty, and the Udang Asam Pedas tasted very bland. The sambal long beans are good though. Maybe they have localised and catered to tourists.

Had dinner on a Saturday, which was good because there was ample seating and the servers were unhurried. The last time I ate here was in 2005, so after 20 years, I'd say the experience was about the same. Here are the good parts… the food is familiar. The downside is the restaurant, though clearly "ungraded" since 2005, is still warm inside, which is bizarre. I think portion sizes have remained somewhat constant (or perhaps my memory is fuzzy), and with the fried egg tofu, it has morphed into a giant dish. We also had the otah fish, which had a bit of a tangy flavor, and some fried long beans. They charged for the sambal. For some reason, the male server dropped the rice on my plate like a bomb and very hurriedly put the dishes ordered on the table… as I mentioned, there wasn't much of a crowd when we arrived or when he was serving. So this bit hasn't changed in 20 years (at least for me). The otah fish looked good but was a little fishy and lacked the lemak flavor, which is what makes otah so special. The fried long beans were very nice though. So 3 dishes for 2 persons and it was a lot to eat. I wanted to order the fish head assam pedas but I think I would have struggled with that. And looking at the table next to us, I think it was prudent of us to skip it. I don't know - perhaps we would have been better off ordering the assam pedas fish head rather than the otah.

This is my second visit to this place. The food is very good; I recommend their Ikan Otah Kukus, Ayam Bali, Kangkong, and Avocado dessert. One thing is they don't serve ice water.

This restaurant has always been a go-to place for me for the chicken curry and beef rendang. This place really hits the spot. Service-wise, this place can be a hit or miss. Generally, it's okay, but it could be better. This place gets busy during lunchtime.

Nice food, most dishes were to my liking. Only the curry chicken was a little disappointing, but the potato was great. The chendol was more like a drink, but still pretty nice.
