Panuozzo brings authentic halal Italian cuisine to Singapore, led by passionate chef Sani who honed his craft over more than a decade with the prestigious Garibaldi Group. This Muslim-owned pizzeria specialises in genuine Italian preparations while adhering to halal standards, making Italian favourites accessible to the Muslim community and anyone seeking quality halal dining.

The restaurant's name comes from the panuozzo, a distinctive Italian creation that bridges the gap between pizza and sandwich. Made with pizza dough that's stuffed with various fillings and cooked until crispy on the outside yet soft within, it represents the kind of authentic regional Italian food that goes beyond the usual pizza and pasta offerings. The kitchen prepares homemade pizza dough daily, with customers choosing between original or oregano bases.

The menu showcases Italian classics reimagined through a halal lens. The Panino Chicken ($11) takes the American panini concept and elevates it using Italian pizza flour for superior texture and taste. Pasta lovers can enjoy dishes like the Basil Pesto Prawn Linguine ($16), while pizza enthusiasts might opt for creative options like the Pizza Truffle Chicken ($18) that combines premium ingredients with traditional preparation methods.

Chef Sani's extensive experience in high-end Italian kitchens translates into proper techniques and quality ingredients, delivering flavours that satisfy both Italian food purists and casual diners. The restaurant demonstrates that halal certification doesn't mean compromising on authenticity or taste - Italian cuisine can be prepared according to Islamic dietary laws while maintaining the essence that makes it beloved worldwide.

A pretty small establishment, with tables lining the walkway beside the adjacent gym. We decided to try the pastas as we weren't in the mood for the panuozzos and pizzas. The Cream Tartufo with Chicken ($14) had a faint truffle aroma which was nice, but the sauce was slightly too rich and heavy for our liking. The pasta was also a tad bit overcooked, so every bite felt like chewing on thick dough. The Mushroom Aglio Olio with Prawns ($13) fared slightly better, but it was lacking in any garlic flavour. They only had one staff working on a Monday evening, and as such the waiting time was a tad bit long (though she was really friendly!). The tables were also shaky. Despite the Burpple 25% discount, I would be hesitant to come back for such subpar pasta. Perhaps for the panuozzo.

Honestly not bad ! Not crowded at all the day I went ! Pretty small store and has a little cozy vibe

Honestly, not bad! It wasn't crowded at all the day I went. It's a pretty small store with a cozy vibe. I tried the pesto penne because most of the items on the menu were sadly unavailable. I heard that their last day was today, so I went to try it on Sunday. The pasta is not too bad, but I wouldn't say it's very special. It cost $12, and adding chicken brought it to $14 (+$2 for the chicken). I'd say it's okay, but I guess they are known for their panuozzo, so I can't say much about their pasta.

Singapore’s first Panuozzo, starting at just $10 (vegan)! Unlike traditional pizzas with cheese toppings over flat fillings, this Italian sandwich focuses on the bread and hearty fillings. Made from long-aged, yeast-raised pizza dough, the Panuozzo highlights the bread’s unique texture and flavor, delivering a distinct and delicious experience, whether you choose it with or without cheese. Personally, I find the crispy, chewy texture and satisfying bite of the Panuozzo’s dough more enjoyable than pizza. Set lunches start from $8.90 and include a vegan pasta and a drink. Swipe to see both the pasta and pizza set menus. All vegetarian/vegan items can be made allium-free, except for Pesto. Located right beside City Hall MRT, with a sheltered walkway to Capitol Piazza, it’s a great spot for affordable and delicious vegan or vegetarian options conveniently in town.

It was our first time trying the unique folded pizza sandwich, which had a chewy dough texture with a slight crisp. We opted for the meatball panuozzo ($15), which offered a delightful mix of flavors, filled with fresh rucola, roasted bell pepper, red onion, mozzarella cheese, beef meatballs, and spicy mayo sauce. There are many other filling options, and you can also try the vegan panuozzo! The children enjoyed the truffle pizza ($19), which was aromatic with a thin and chewy base, but the creamy carbonara ($12) was a tad salty for my taste.

Panuozzo is a pizza kiosk on Basement 1 of the Capitol. While the price is reasonable with no pizza above $20.00, we did not find the pasta appealing and the pizzas are at best acceptable. These pizzas definitely do not look like the ones on Google Maps; there seems to be a significant downgrade, more like Pizza Hut quality. You can judge from our photos.
