Operating from 116 Changi Road in the charming WIS@Changi complex, Rumah Mariam carries forward a distinguished family legacy that spans three generations of briyani expertise. Owner Hassan Abdul Majeed comes from a lineage of master chefs, with his grandfather having founded the legendary Islamic Restaurant at North Bridge Road. Now, with 23 years of cooking experience under his belt, Hassan has created an intimate dining destination that has earned widespread acclaim for serving some of Singapore finest Middle Eastern rice dishes.

The menu at Rumah Mariam is refreshingly focused, offering just two specialties: Briyani and Mandi, each available with a choice of meat. This dedication to perfection over variety shows in every plate. The Mandi preparation is particularly noteworthy, with rice cooked separately in aromatic mandi spices, while each chicken order is blow-torched to order, imparting a distinctive smoky aroma and beautifully charred flavour.
