Sampanman made waves when it opened at Jewel Changi Airport by bringing theatrical halal seafood dining to one of Singapore's most visited destinations. The MUIS halal-certified restaurant presents its seafood boils served dramatically on custom-made sampan boat grills - a presentation that evokes Singapore's maritime heritage while delivering Instagram-worthy spectacle that travelers and locals alike rush to photograph and share.
The crown jewel remains the XXL Fisherman Sampan (38++), an absolute seafood feast designed for five to six hungry diners. This monster platter piles 500g Boston lobster, a substantial 1.6kg Sri Lankan crab, 500g prawns, 500g clams, 500g mussels, six scallops, six mantou buns, and macaroni onto the signature boat grill. Diners choose from three bold sauces - Chilli Crab, Salted Egg, or Black Pepper Crab - each coating the fresh seafood in distinctive Singaporean flavours. For smaller groups, the Shellfish Sampan (8++) offers similar excitement at two-person scale. Additional menu highlights include Truffle Buttermilk Crab Bee Hoon that showcases premium ingredients in comforting local formats.
Located at B1-223 in Jewel Changi Airport (78 Airport Boulevard), Sampanman operates Sunday through Thursday 11am-10pm and extends to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The location makes it ideal for pre-flight celebrations, post-arrival feasts, or day-trippers visiting Jewel who want memorable halal seafood dining. A second outlet, Sampanman Kelong, has since opened at Jurong Point, bringing the sampan boat experience westward. For Muslim travelers and families seeking halal seafood with theatrical flair at Singapore's iconic airport, Sampanman delivers both substance and spectacle.

The food's taste was usually okay, but the portion size was unacceptable. You pay 13 SGD for just a small bowl of vegetables!
Also, the service wasn't very satisfying. We waited in line for a couple of minutes, and staff walked by without noticing us. We had to stop someone who seemed to have no work to do at the moment. He showed us to our table with much confusion and hesitation on his face (I don't know why). Then we ordered, and the food arrived. However, if we didn't ask, nobody would have known to give us tableware for the food – even after they brought it to our table.
Not a good experience.

I've been a regular customer, but recently the food quantity has dropped. I was told by the staff that the supplier increased costs, leading to smaller portions. I also had to call for my ordered drink, and my request for extra sauce didn't come. Nevertheless, the food still tastes amazing, but considering the portion size and service, it's not worth the cost...

Food was bad. Ordered mee siam & curry noodle. Tasted very… nothing amazing (unlike the reviews said). First and last time here. Sadly, the toast and stuff ends at 5pm, otherwise I think I would have come to try their egg and toast. I understand why there are so many good reviews already – they give freebies…
Good points:
Menu concept is nice.
Free cendol (that tasted better than their paid food).

The food is decent, offering a satisfying balance of flavors and textures. While it may not be exceptional, it is well-prepared and enjoyable, with fresh ingredients and a thoughtful presentation. The seasoning is adequately done, ensuring each bite is flavorful without being overpowering. Overall, it's a solid choice for a pleasant and fulfilling meal, though it may not leave a lasting impression.

What I like about this place:
1) The ambience is very nice. The decor and the music that accompanies it are very pleasant.
2) Their curry noodles (in my opinion) are better than Old Town's. My family and I enjoyed them very much.
3) The Manager's service and explanation of the dishes were excellent. Her warm, lovely smile and greeting truly brightened our day.
What's lacking:
1) The crab was not cracked at all, which made opening it a hassle as the juice might splatter everywhere when one cracks open the shell.
2) We ordered the Trio BBQ Cheese Prawn, and to our surprise, the prawn flesh was only the size of my thumb. Even my daughter questioned why the prawn was smaller than those we usually have in prawn noodles.
Seriously speaking, I'm giving a 5-star review because I really liked the impeccable service rendered by the Lady Manager, which made this trip to Sampan Man a likable one. Having her here at the airport is a good representation of the service in Singapore's F&B industry.
The above is solely my personal experience, and I hope the food standard will improve in the future. Thank you.

Fresh seafood. Made a reservation with a stroller space request, and they helped me with it. The chilli crab sauce is spicy but tasty. Damn fast service; we just ordered, and the food came right up with gloves and an apron. The lala bee hoon served up a whole bowl of lala. The lala was clean with occasional small specks of sand. Cendol is okay. Overall, an enjoyable meal.

Went there for lunch and the food was great. Able to choose your own sauce for the sampan, and the bee hoon soup was great too. They have a kids' menu as well. The chendol and biscuits were free flow too

Nice toasty/grilled buns! (Sorry about the half-eaten pics; I couldn't resist sinking my teeth into the crusty fluff!) Real gula and decent kaya. The butter thickness is just right. The teh is good too. The flavour is just right, without being overwhelming.
