Sheik Allauddin at Block 216 Bedok North Street 1 has built a strong reputation for their copper pot Dum Biryani, prepared using the traditional dum pukht cooking method where rice and meat are slow-cooked together in a sealed copper vessel. This ancient cooking technique, originating from the Mughal era, allows the ingredients to cook in their own steam and juices, resulting in incredibly aromatic and flavorful biryani. Located in a popular Bedok North hawker center, Sheik Allauddin attracts biryani enthusiasts from across Singapore who appreciate the authentic preparation method and the depth of flavors that only dum cooking can achieve.

Had chapati with mutton curry for breakfast. The chapati was soft and warm. . The mutton curry was quite diluted, but it's free if you don't want to shell out another $1.50 for mutton keema. Didn't try their thosai or mee siam.

I went to the stall at Blk 216 Bedok Market Central. I saw the signboard saying Sheik Allauddin Copper Pot Dum Biryani and decided to order two packets of mutton briyani for $7.50. I was very disappointed with the rice. I don't think this is the briyani stall from Sheik Allauddin Copper Pot Dum Biryani; it's the worst briyani I have ever tasted. I didn't ask the stall owner before I bought it; perhaps I believed the signboard, but it's very deceiving. They must change the signboard, or more customers will be cheated. The rice is just coloured yellow rice with one piece of frozen mutton curry. Very disappointed.

I honestly think this stall has changed hands. Although the name is retained, even the signboard and operating hours are different. The prata is made per order, and the price is very reasonable for its standard. It's one of the better hawker centre pratas, costing only $1.80 per piece for egg, despite no stated prices at the stall. The mutton curry is akin to dhal, and they also serve sambal. I feel it would go well with this curry dhal if you opt for it, but you have to ask for it.
