Halal Food in Ci Yuan Hawker Centre

Ci Yuan Hawker Centre opened in 2015 as Singapore's first hawker centre built within a community centre, marking a significant milestone as the first new hawker centre since 1985. Located at 51 Hougang Avenue 9, this pioneering facility features 40 food stalls and 640 seats under a spacious high-ceiling design with giant fans for better ventilation. Managed by Fei Siong Social Enterprise on a not-for-profit basis, the hawker centre operates 24 hours daily, serving residents across Hougang and beyond. The centre offers a comprehensive range of local favourites, from Hokkien prawn noodles and carrot cake to lor mee, kway chap, Hainanese curry rice, and nasi Padang. Its innovative management model and modern facilities have set new standards for hawker centres across Singapore, while maintaining the essential community spirit and affordable dining that defines hawker culture.
