Halal Food in Potong Pasir MRT Station
Potong Pasir MRT Station (NE10) is an underground station on the North East Line, positioned beneath Upper Serangoon Road at the junction with Potong Pasir Avenue 1 and Wan Tho Avenue. Opening on 20 June 2003, the station serves the Potong Pasir residential estate, whose name translates to cut sand in Malay, a reference to the area historical sand quarrying activities that shaped the landscape. The station history is marked by an interesting political chapter. Initially announced as Sennett station in March 1996 when the 16 NEL stations were revealed, it was stated that the station would only be constructed when the area had been developed intensely and sufficient demand materialised. Eventually renamed Potong Pasir, the station was built and has since become an integral part of the neighbourhood transport infrastructure. Operating daily from approximately 6:00 am to 12:15 am, Potong Pasir station maintains train frequencies ranging from 2.5 to 5 minutes depending on peak periods. Positioned between Boon Keng and Woodleigh stations on the North East Line, it serves not only the immediate residential community but also provides convenient access to Saint Andrew Village, a significant cluster of educational institutions within the Saint Andrew family of schools. The station wheelchair-accessible facilities ensure inclusive access for all commuters in this mature estate.
