The food doesn't taste as good as it did many years ago. I ordered the Ayam Bakar Kicap, and they just fried the chicken and dumped chilli sauce on it. Not worth the $7.

A wild myna flew into the stall and was roaming around the food, but the owner was sitting outside the stall and didn't seem to care to chase it away.

indian guy so rude i dont get why he has to be so rude when we asked if we can pay by PayNow.
The Indian staff member was very rude. I don't understand why he had to be so impolite when we asked if we could pay by PayNow.

Ordered the bubur kampong and it was horrible. The ratio of porridge to the sides was not equal— too little sides. It came with sambal kangkong (which was too sweet), peanuts (had a pungent taste, like they were old), cai po, ikan bilis, and half of a salted egg. Usually, bubur kampung in other shops also comes with sambal belacan and salted fish, but for $6, this shop doesn't include them. The porridge was topped with fried shallots which were so pungent, as if they were overfried and burnt.
The kangkong was made to order, but the person serving the orders cooked it so slowly. I was also in line next door getting lontong and banana fritters, and those were served before he was done with the bubur.
Looking at the reviews, they might be good for penyet. But I will never come again for the bubur.

The rice was cold, hard, and in one big lump. To prevent customers from seeing it, the staff covered it with small fried fish. For that price, I would highly recommend eating ayam penyet at Gantral Mall.
The serving staff didn't even bother to inform customers about the free-flow soup. Only after careful scrutiny did I realize there was soup covered with a maroon red cloth on top of the soup box.
Poor customer service! I will not patronize again!

First time patronising this stall. The prices on the menu are very reasonable. The chicken rice is good, and the bawal penyet is also good. Love the packaging. And the abang at the stall was very cheerful, polite, and efficient. Thank you!! (No pictures because I ate too fast!)

If you're a fan of authentic Malaysian food, you've got to check out Pondok Abang — a heritage stall serving traditional flavors since 1990!
I tried their Ayam Penyet and Nasi Lemak — absolutely delicious. The fried chicken was super crispy, the rice cooked to perfection, and the sambal added that perfect spicy kick!
They also offer dishes like Ayam Bakar Rendang, Bawal Penyet, Bubur Kampung, and Rojak Bandung, all at very reasonable prices (ranging from $5 to $7.50).
Fresh food, friendly staff, and fast service — can't ask for more!
Highly recommended if you want a taste of real Malaysian flavors in Singapore! ️

Delicious food! The only issue is that they are not consistent in serving their food. Sometimes the chicken is very dry, and other times it's pretty juicy.

Had the ayam penyet with nasi goreng. The portion size was worth the price, and the nasi goreng was not bad. The sambal was good too.
