The mee rebus flavour is good, but I'd skip the begedil as it wasn't served crispy and hot. I'd also recommend getting an option with ayam, otherwise it's mostly carbs.

Delicious boiled noodles with a decent gravy. Extra bean sprouts are available on request! The chilli was really fragrant and added a direct sweetness to the otherwise rich sauce.

Choosing between Mee Rebus and Mee Soto was a tough one, but I ended up going for both! Both dishes were delicious and had a classic, traditional taste.

Mee Rebus (SGD $3.50) @ Afandi Hawa & Family Mee Rebus.
Established by Afandi Ahmad in 1967, this heritage stall is now run by the second generation.
The ingredients are standard: chewy soft yellow egg noodles, crisp bean sprouts, spongy tofu puffs, bouncy hard-boiled chicken egg, and crisp green chili, resulting in a grainy, sweet, vegetal, savoury, eggy, and spicy flavour.
But the star is their gravy, thick, chunky, and viscous, made with a base of mashed sweet potato, fermented soybean paste, dried shrimp, lime juice, and spices; with the addition of unique ingredients including mutton and flower crab.
The result is an addictive sweet, savoury, earthy, nutty, and spicy flavour to the gravy, comforting and filling.

Located inside Haig Road Hawker Centre, along the Muslim stalls row. One of the best Mee Rebus I've tasted! The normal size plate comes with yellow noodles, a whole boiled egg, bean sprouts, chopped green chilli, condiments, and generous gravy. The gravy is very rich and consistent, with tiny to small chunks of mutton (a bonus). I think the stall also added peanut sauce/powder into the gravy. The result is very nicely cooked yellow noodles, topped with the yummy gravy. You can add extra ingredients like stomach slices, chicken, potatoes, etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful!
4 Stars for Food and Service Qualities! At $3.50 for a standard serving plate, it's very reasonable!
3 Stars for Atmosphere. Unfortunately, not much atmosphere can be created within a small-spaced stall inside a non-aircon public food centre.
