Anak Bapak represents over 20 years of culinary tradition in Singapore, operating as a beloved Muslim-owned restaurant at Eunos Crescent Market and Food Centre. The name "Anak Bapak" (Son Father) reflects the heartwarming father-son partnership between Mr. Kamal and his son, who have built this establishment into a local institution near Eunos MRT station.
The restaurant has gained fame for their innovative halal beef bak kut teh, a Muslim-friendly adaptation of the traditional dish that uses beef instead of pork. Served piping hot in claypots with unmistakable herbal and garlicky aromas, their beef bak kut teh comes with rice and delivers authentic flavors that have attracted food enthusiasts for decades. The extensive menu features over 20 dishes including char kway teow, mee bandung, and soya sauce chicken noodles.
Operating from approximately 12pm to 9pm daily with flexible hours, Anak Bapak provides an authentic hawker experience where Mr. Kamal takes breaks between lunch and dinner to ensure freshly prepared meals. Their commitment to halal ingredients and traditional cooking methods has made them a go-to destination for Muslims seeking familiar comfort food in a genuine local setting.

Came all the way from the west on a Saturday lunchtime, and the queue was long. We waited for more than an hour, only for them to say it was sold out. We were told we had to wait another hour and a half for the new batch to finish cooking.
The son seemed quite upset looking at the long line and even argued with the dad at one point.
They could have at least put up a sign once it was sold out. But no. So, we ordered the chicken rice. Some parts of the chicken were still raw. We also ordered beef char siew noodles; the beef was so tough and gamey.
There's a saying – good marketing doesn't mean good food.
Super disappointed. All that bak kut teh marketing, but the stall produces such small batches.
One star only for the deserving polite makcik who took my order.

Because the situation was quite crowded, I only managed to take a picture of the halal bak kut teh which went viral. Besides buying the halal bak kut teh, we also tasted the wantan noodles, chicken rice, vadai, and onde-onde gula melaka. The halal bak kut teh was very delicious; it is indeed the star of this stall. For the chicken rice and wantan noodles, they were only average. The vadai was soft, but the onde-onde was not. The onde-onde looked beautiful and big, but the flour was hard. I think the onde-onde needs attention if the flour measurement is wrong.

It was very disappointing as I brought my friend from Malaysia just to taste this beef halal Bak Kut Teh. They had only half a shutter open, and when I asked other hawkers, they also weren't sure if it was open. I arrived at 11:30 am, and Google said they opened at 12 pm-7 pm. I waited almost two hours. I decided to eat briyani at another hawker stall, and wow! It was amazing.

Service: There were only my husband and I, plus two other customers on a Public Holiday. When we asked how long our Bak Kut Teh orders would take, the staff member taking our orders simply told us to wait. More communication would be better.
Atmosphere: It has a kind of old-school vibe, as it's situated in a mature estate. It's easily located, a short walking distance from Eunos MRT.
Food: Didn't quite meet my expectations. The Bak Kut Teh's taste was only equivalent to a good meat broth. In my humble opinion, it wasn't even close to that of the original non-halal version. Perhaps the Malay uncle (owner) decided to tweak the recipe to cater to the Malay community's liking.
Price: Not quite value for money. I feel like I could have gotten a nicer food option elsewhere.

This is my fourth time visiting the stall, and all four times it has either been closed, or they haven't been selling their main dishes. I've been wanting to try the beef bak kut teh and made the trip here, only to find out it's unavailable even though Google says they are open. If you're not going to update your opening hours on Google, what's the point of having a listing in the first place? Terrible, so very disappointed.

I only tried their kueh lopes here. So far, it's the best one in this hawker centre. The ondeh ondeh could be thinner, but the gula melaka filling is yummy.

The halal bakuteh was quite different from the usual, leaning more towards the peppery side. There were many large black peppercorns, so be careful when eating.
The beef was tender and flavourful, though many chunks were loaded with fat. If that's a concern for you, flavour-wise it's wholesome and almost identical to mutton soup.
Overall, I'd eat here again if the craving strikes. The customer service was very good; as I was carrying a baby, a staff member brought the dish to my table.

Came here from the west just to try their Halal beef bak kut teh. It's really worth it! Lucky I still managed to get it after a long queue, just 10 minutes before iftar. My husband is a Chinese mualaf, and he said this bak kut teh tastes the same as the original Chinese version. I liked the sambal too. A must-try!

I am writing this review a bit late, having visited Anak Bapak a few years back in 2017-2018. However, it never gets too old, as this place is a treat for anyone who wonders how "Bak Kut Teh" tastes, especially since you rarely find a halal version of this dish. The uncle who runs this place has been doing it for a long time. He makes a halal version of Beef Bak Kut Teh, and it tastes amazingly wonderful. The spices and herbs added to the soup create an explosion of flavors in your mouth. When I chatted with the owner, I mentioned finding the place after reading articles online. The elderly owner/chef didn't realize he was so famous online, as he doesn't use the internet or Facebook. He believes his food gained fame through word of mouth. While there are many other dishes he prepares, the 'Beef Bak Kut Teh' is the signature dish.

Went to Anak Bapak on a Monday evening for breaking of fast. Since it's a hawker centre, seating can be quite full during dinner time, but once a table is free, anyone can use it.
Beef Bak Kut Teh is served with rice – chicken rice. The rice is very fragrant and well-cooked. I loved the beef bak kut teh, and the meat used is the brisket part, which comes with plenty of fat trimming. The soup is tasty and not too overpowering with spice. Eat it with rice and the sambal provided. Super kick!
The Nasi Goreng Ayam my husband ate from this stall is delicious. The rice used for frying is chicken rice, just like the old times when hawkers sold them.
All in all, the food from Anak Bapak is tasty. After I finished eating, I saw the old uncle owner outside his stall and thanked him for making the delicious food. The makcik who attended to customers was also cheerful and helpful. Thank you! Belly full, heart happy.
