It's baffling to me why Arnold's hasn't caught up to the norm of bundling meals with drinks, at least to attempt to hide the ludicrous prices. I got the 1/2 spring chicken set with gravy and lemon tea. The chicken itself was pretty decent; the fried skin was crisp and the meat was tender enough. However, once you get into it, you have to wonder if they forgot to season their chicken. The fries were good, I have no comment on the coleslaw, and DO NOT waste $1.80 on the watery gravy. Overall, I really don't see what the cult following Arnold's has, to be honest, and I don't think I will ever consider it again during a fried chicken pang.

It’s Thursday evening, close to 9:45pm, but the outlet closed earlier than its official timing. This is definitely not what management would want to see, and the outlet staff mostly agreed to an early closure. My spending would have been an additional $50+ if they had taken my order.
This is a problem I often face as a business consultant when companies consistently have issues with their retail operations. Business owners also need to communicate effectively with their retail staff to work things out.
For example, if they had accepted me at 9:45pm, they would have had to close the restaurant at 10:30pm due to cleaning and tidying up. Therefore, the notice should change the last order time to 9:30pm and allow online or phone orders with customers paying via PayNow, so the restaurant can proceed with cooking and close on time.
There's no right or wrong in this matter; I'm just pointing out that management needs to adjust the last order timing so retail staff can better arrange their work, and diners won't be left frustrated and hungry.
Overall, this restaurant serves some of the best and fastest fried chicken in Singapore. I will still give my support, but their operations can certainly be improved. Thanks.
One star will be changed or updated when I see improvement.

The staff were inefficient. I understand there was a huge crowd and many orders were piled up. We waited at the counter unattended (ignored) for quite some time before a staff member took our order. What is even more infuriating is that they did not serve the orders according to queue number. Those who ordered after us, such as numbers 150, 152, 153, and 163, received their orders first??? Is that fair? Our number was 149. The manager told us they were out of chicken and the kitchen estimated 15-20 minutes for frying.
Also, the staff wasn't friendly; she seemed uninterested, as if being forced to serve. She used her phone in public to take phone calls. Among the staff, while packing orders, they had internal conflicts about the Grab orders, which was visible.
Arnold needs to review the staff working at the Hougang branch, period. Previously, when we dined in, it wasn't like this; City Plaza is the best!!!
P.S. The manager came out after a long queue to try and manage the crowd. I am very dissatisfied with how the queue management and order fulfillment were handled. However, I have edited and given 2 stars as the manager was able to perform good service recovery by serving the chicken first and the fries later. There is room for improvement for Arnold's Hougang Branch. Yours sincerely

Honestly it’s overpriced for fried chicken and staff are not service oriented.

Honestly, it's overpriced for fried chicken and the staff are not service-oriented. There's no more crowd here compared to the 2008 era, and they should review their costing. The chicken is too peppery, and the dry skin inside is too oily.

Had a sudden craving for chicken and visited Arnold's. The fried chicken was tasty, however, the chicken parts were relatively small given their price point. The coleslaw is refreshing, and the other sides were acceptable. For a price of $13, including a soft drink, it's really on the high side.

Chicken pieces are much bigger this round. Requested drumstick and thigh parts as I don't eat breast meat, and they fulfilled the request. Overall, the food served was piping hot. Great improvement from the last visit.

The wait is so slow, even for an off-peak visit. The restaurant seems to prioritize delivery orders over dine-in. The process needs to be seamless for both dine-in and delivery orders. Waited 27 minutes for it to be ready. It's too slow.
