We recently celebrated our mum’s birthday at Asian Market Café, and it was our first time dining there. It was a special occasion for our family, and while there were highlights, we hope our feedback can help the team enhance the experience for future guests. What We Loved: The fresh seafood station was the star of the show for us! The prawns were incredibly fresh and juicy, and the crab claws were a real treat. We just wished this station had been replenished more frequently, as it was clearly a popular one. We also really enjoyed the dessert selection. The local flavours were a nostalgic touch—cheng teng, durian pengat, and teh tarik ice cream stood out for us. It’s lovely to see traditional favourites presented so thoughtfully. The beverage options were also a pleasant surprise. We appreciated the variety, from rose syrup with lime to water chestnut juice, pineapple juice, and freshly brewed coffee and tea. It was refreshing to see such a range available. Room for Improvement – Service Suggestions: As it was a birthday celebration, we were hoping for a slightly more attentive experience. A few things stood out: • The staff presence on the dining floor seemed limited. Our plates piled up during the meal, and we ended up clearing them ourselves before the cake-cutting moment. • When the birthday cake was brought out, we weren’t given any plates or cutlery, which made it a bit tricky to enjoy the cake together. • The cake itself was quite dry. At $35 for 500g, we felt there’s potential for a more moist and flavourful option, especially for special occasions. We understand it might have been a busy day or the team could have been short-staffed, but with a little more attention to these details, the overall experience would have been even more memorable. Final Thoughts: We’re glad we chose Asian Market Café for our mum’s special day. The food variety and local touches are great, and with a bit more warmth and attentiveness in service, it has the potential to be a go-to spot for celebrations. We hope our feedback is helpful, and we look forward to seeing how the team continues to grow and improve.

The buffet lunch is guaranteed to leave you stuffed. By my count, there are three major types of cuisines: Japanese, Asian, and Western, offering an experience of trying out different culinary styles. I was most pleasantly surprised by the chilli crab, which was definitely the highlight for me.

Our seating position provided a tactical view of NDP rehearsals, allowing us to comfortably watch from our seats. The atmosphere was pleasant, though the seating area felt somewhat confined. Mr. Sha and Aaliya delivered outstanding service, showcasing their friendly and accommodating nature. We enjoyed the refreshing Berry & Apple Kasturi and appreciated the thoughtful welcome of a fresh sugarcane drink. Although the crab sambal was excessively sweet and the nasi goreng slightly salty, the satay was nicely paired with a thick peanut sauce. As durian enthusiasts, we found the pengat to be exceptional. This venue offers a lovely setting to unwind with family and friends.

An enjoyable buffet experience with an ample selection of food to choose from — something for everyone! The standout dishes were definitely the chilli crab and the sushi, both fresh and full of flavour. It was one of those spreads that’s bad for the waistline but great for the soul. Overall, a satisfying experience well worth the visit.

Crowded, which means it's popular, and many credit cards offer discounts now. Anyways, back to the food. There's a wide spread of local and Asian delights, including some great lamb curry, satay, and Thai-style fish fillet. The sashimi was so fresh that you can experience the tenderness, or rather the texture, of salmon that's just from the sea... really. The chilli crab was fresh, but the style wasn't up to our 'zhi char' standard, so it wasn't my favourite. A wide spread of desserts meant I couldn't even finish trying them all. I was full to the max. Wondering if I can afford to come back again... I mean, my stomach... Oops, forgot to give the baked sea bass a 5-star rating. Nicely done and flavourful, while maintaining the freshness of the fish. Truly a worthy buffet for a local spread of delights.

An all-around good value for money buffet, especially when there are discounts through various credit cards. The spread is quite extensive, with more items available on weekends. The live stations are a nice touch.
