Disappointed. We were charged for two rice cakes but did not receive them. The satay was burnt, and the sauce was diluted. Please check your order before leaving. Lesson learned.

It's such a disgrace to us Muslims if we were to eat your ayam penyet, which you yourself label as number 1. The service was totally awful. I ordered one ayam penyet thigh part, but instead, you gave me the breast part, and to top it off, it was two packets. I don't understand which part of my sentence you guys didn't grasp. I understand the small kid isn't schooling and is helping at the shop, but how can you ask a small child to take orders? It's $6 per packet, and I swear it tasted awful, with way too little rice. How are we supposed to support Malay businesses? Please, it's 2022 already; win back our community's heart. I'm a seller myself. I'm disappointed in every part of your service and standards . I shouldn't have even given you guys one star in the first place.

To be honest, the portion of rice was a lot. For $7, the ayam penyet had a super tiny portion of chicken meat. The chilli was sweet, not spicy, and not nice. Considering it's a hawker centre, the food is quite expensive. There was no queue. I don't recommend it.

The food is so-so, and the service is super slow. Knowing it's a Sunday and the queue is getting longer, the only reason I queued for this stall is because it had the shortest queues among all other stalls. I wanted to order the nasi rawon and nasi sambal goreng. I was in the queue for nearly 20 minutes due to the slow service. In the end, when it was my turn to order, everything was finished. Only ayam penyet was left. There was no decency to inform those in the queue that items were sold out; I wasn't the only one. Wasted my time.

Did not order their Ayam Penyet. Ordered 5 sticks each of chicken, beef, and mutton satay to check their Power Satay claim. Beef and mutton were tender and well-marinated. The chicken was average. Hygiene needs to improve. I saw the helpers using their bare hands to pick up the cucumber to put into plastic bags for takeaway.

The portion of gado gado is just right. Perhaps because it was still early, the satay sauce wasn't heated up yet. I was served a cold plate of gado gado, which really made me want to "quarrel" over the cold dish! It would have been perfect if the satay sauce was hot.

This stall serves great nasi sambal goreng. They are quite generous with the portions. The queue is usually not too long, and they prepare the food quite fast. I love the kupang goreng here. However, some of the other dishes are not available if you come by early in the morning, like 8:00 am. They seem to need more time to prepare some of their dishes.

It is really my no. 1 ayam penyet now. Value for money. The crunch and the keropok are very crispy. It's like a set meal with a separate bowl of curry vegetables. The sambal is like the Malay-style nasi lemak chilli and is not as spicy as what I had in Indonesia.

For Jummah Mubarak after Friday's prayers at this far corner of Bedok, it's not only about avoiding the many degustation temptations but also, for someone like me who prefers a lighter lunch, quite a challenge. Mostly due to my own greed or 'rambang mata' as the Malays would say. Guilty as charged! :) After much scouting at the small but wonderfully packed hawker centre with many halal stalls, I chanced upon Tahu Goreng, or Fried Tofu, done the classic Malay style. Basically, it's a large square tofu topped with blanched bean sprouts and diced cucumber, then covered by the most delectable, aromatic peanut sauce. This stall's old-school authentic offering had a darker peanut sauce that promised a richer delight. Per chance, I saw they had Paru, or fried lungs, and thought, why not? It's quite a good pairing, and when combined, it's more than satisfying. Sedap! Then I felt why not treat myself to some sweet dessert Kueh treats. I had to be careful not to be overly greedy as I wanted to sample each one, which is linked to wonderfully fond childhood memories. I restrained myself with a choice of three for two dollars fifty cents. No more cheap kuehs in Singapore anymore. At least I knew I could finish them and not waste any. There is only so much one can 'makan'. The kind drink stall seller ensured my fresh lime juice was truly fresh. Delicious and wonderfully complemented the food. Pop over and if you're not concerned like me – :'( – let go and try as many temptations there.
