Crolo by Swee Heng represents the innovative evolution of Singapore's beloved Swee Heng Bakery legacy, launched in January 2021 by founder Eric Ng as a specialized halal-certified concept dedicated to bringing premium croissant culture to Singapore's heartlands. Inspired by a transformative visit to a Japanese-style croissant store in Taiwan, Eric embarked on a year-long research and development journey to create affordable, authentic croissants that would make French pastry artistry accessible to all communities. This groundbreaking venture combines the trusted Swee Heng heritage of quality baking with contemporary croissant innovation, establishing itself as the first major halal-certified croissant specialist in Singapore's competitive bakery landscape.
The menu at Crolo showcases over 30 meticulously crafted varieties of croissants, spanning both sweet and savory creations that demonstrate remarkable culinary creativity and technical precision. Signature offerings include decadent Blackforest and mentaiko crolo, seasonal apple crumble and mango custard variations, rich chocolate ganache selections, and innovative snow crab croissants that blend French technique with Asian flavors. Each croissant is baked fresh daily from scratch, ensuring the perfect balance of buttery richness and flaky texture, with pricing strategically positioned at $1.30 for small croissants and $2.80 for larger varieties. The bakery's signature buy-6-get-2 promotion makes premium croissants exceptionally accessible to families and regular customers.
Since obtaining MUIS halal certification, Crolo by Swee Heng has successfully democratized French pastry culture for Singapore's Muslim community while establishing strategic locations in Tampines, Ang Mo Kio, and Northpoint to serve heartland residents. The venture's success reflects Singapore's appetite for innovative halal baking concepts that respect traditional techniques while embracing local preferences and accessibility. Crolo continues to expand the definition of halal bakeries in Singapore, proving that premium European pastry traditions can be authentically adapted to serve diverse communities without compromising on quality, flavor, or craftsmanship.

It's not comparable to real, freshly made quality croissants and waffles. It's fun to eat once in a while, but nothing truly worth going back for. At this price point, I'd rather opt for decent sourdough bread or a proper, high-quality croissant like those from Paul. I prefer something real and good, not just gimmicky and fancy.

The service was terrible. I simply asked which item was on promotion, and the staff (in the pic) just glared at me and said, “See for yourself.” If I already knew the price, I wouldn’t be asking in the first place. Very unprofessional attitude.

I bought some Hawaiian chicken and a butter croissant. They were too hard to bite, perhaps they had been left out for too long. I bought them around 7 pm and they were already very hard. I only wanted one chocolate custard and another croissant of a different kind. However, the clerk gave me two chocolates. I double-checked this with the clerk when I paid, as the bill stated two chocolates. After I asked the clerk to get a larger paper bag, the service was not very good. I won't buy from here again.

Bought five crolos for $5, the usual price is $1.10 each. The texture was quite hard, except for the cranberry one. The chicken ham was flavourful, and the caramel custard, polo, and chocolate chip were not bad either. They have other varieties such as egg mayo crolo going at $2.80. I may go back to try others.

So far I've been there 3 times and have yet to be disappointed. I usually get the savoury ones, so I can't speak for the sweet custards etc., except for the basic custard croissant which I just tried today. It was sweet but not too sweet, very flaky, and not 'soggy' at all, much like the other savoury ones I've tried. The fillings are always very generous, making me feel as though it's worth the price. Ever since I got it 2 weeks ago, I've been going back once every week to get my fill! Would recommend the tuna croissant for tuna lovers - super worth!

Definitely a healthier option compared to half a dozen donuts. I love how vibrant and wide the variety of options are to choose from. I would recommend their peach crolo! It’s amazing how they made the croissant bread into a waffle shape and I love the texture. It didn’t turn soggy despite the fact that the custard cream was resting on it! The tuna croissant is on the saltier side.

Love the bright and cheerful display of croissants. The service staff were efficient and courteous. I wanted to try the croffle (croissant and waffle) variation, but it seems they have changed them to croroll (croissant and rolls) now.
Got the mango croroll and strawberry custard croissant. Ate them cold; the pastry was crispy and smelled fragrant and good. Lots of diced juicy mango with a nice mix of sweet and sour. The custard cream on both desserts was a little too sweet for me, though. But still a very pleasing and light dessert!

Bought the Pistachio & Chocolate Ball Croissant for $2.80. It was well packed in a plastic box, and even after leaving it in the fridge overnight, it still tasted great the next day! They offer a wide variety of options, both sweet and savory! I was so tempted by the classic egg mayo and tuna croissants.
