Crolo by Swee Heng represents the innovative evolution of Singapore's beloved Swee Heng Bakery legacy, launched in January 2021 by founder Eric Ng as a specialized halal-certified concept dedicated to bringing premium croissant culture to Singapore's heartlands. Inspired by a transformative visit to a Japanese-style croissant store in Taiwan, Eric embarked on a year-long research and development journey to create affordable, authentic croissants that would make French pastry artistry accessible to all communities. This groundbreaking venture combines the trusted Swee Heng heritage of quality baking with contemporary croissant innovation, establishing itself as the first major halal-certified croissant specialist in Singapore's competitive bakery landscape.

The menu at Crolo showcases over 30 meticulously crafted varieties of croissants, spanning both sweet and savory creations that demonstrate remarkable culinary creativity and technical precision. Signature offerings include decadent Blackforest and mentaiko crolo, seasonal apple crumble and mango custard variations, rich chocolate ganache selections, and innovative snow crab croissants that blend French technique with Asian flavors. Each croissant is baked fresh daily from scratch, ensuring the perfect balance of buttery richness and flaky texture, with pricing strategically positioned at $1.30 for small croissants and $2.80 for larger varieties. The bakery's signature buy-6-get-2 promotion makes premium croissants exceptionally accessible to families and regular customers.

Since obtaining MUIS halal certification, Crolo by Swee Heng has successfully democratized French pastry culture for Singapore's Muslim community while establishing strategic locations in Tampines, Ang Mo Kio, and Northpoint to serve heartland residents. The venture's success reflects Singapore's appetite for innovative halal baking concepts that respect traditional techniques while embracing local preferences and accessibility. Crolo continues to expand the definition of halal bakeries in Singapore, proving that premium European pastry traditions can be authentically adapted to serve diverse communities without compromising on quality, flavor, or craftsmanship.

The chocolate on the Danish roll hadn't fully set, and it took me a long time to clean my hands. When I went to pay, the lady was extremely rude and just threw my croissants into a bag, crushing two out of six. A waste of money! Don't bother!

There's always a queue at Crolo, and I finally got to try it thanks to a ShopBack voucher. They offer mini croissants at $1.30 and larger ones with more substantial fillings like tuna mayo/chilli crab mayo, etc., at $3.20. I chose a mini chocolate custard croissant, which was surprisingly quite big and sufficient for breakfast (comparable to the standard croissant size at local bakeries). I heated it up the next day before eating. Taste-wise, it was pretty average. It was more doughy than flaky, and lacked sufficient air pockets. They also didn't include a lot of custard, making it a bit dry after a few bites. Still, it's pretty worth the price, and I would buy it occasionally or as gifts.

Decent pastry for the price, with lots of unique creations. I was pleasantly surprised that the croissant was still slightly crispy under all that cream and toppings. Also glad that these were not too sweet; they were just nice. Manage your expectations here – this is not premium, but fun stuff. It’s ok lah. Ps. I brought the Prawn Mentaiko croffle home and air-fried it at 200°C for 3-5 minutes, and it blew my mind. It became a beast! Damn shiok! That’s how you enjoy a savory croffle. Damn!

The food was good and I love Crolo. I would frequent this shop at the JP and Yishun outlets, but for the first time, I was attended by a very rude worker named "Sharen". She works at the Tampines outlet just beside the MRT. She shouted at me and asked, "Which one you point?" because she did not see which baked good I was pointing to. I was so shocked and could not process the interaction I had, so I did not have the courage to call her out. Please train your workers to be more polite when attending to customers. Thank you.

Was quite tempted to try their croissants since Swee Heng bakeries are generally quite popular in the heartlands. They have small and large croissants. Small ones are about $1.30 and large ones are about $2.80, depending on flavors. There are really a lot of different flavors. I saw apple crumble, mango custard, black forest, choc ganache, and many more. I got the mango custard, black forest, and the pistachio chocolate. The mango custard and black forest were quite normal. The pastry is fairly decent, but they are really generous with the fillings. The pistachio chocolate one is really good! They also have cashback and offers on the ShopBack app. Will definitely return to try other flavors!

The queue is always long but moves fast! They offer a variety of fusion pastries, perfect for those who enjoy croissants with eggs or even something sweet. I recommend the butter ammans. The price is worth it and the staff are great!

The service crew was rather patient. I told her I would take some time to decide what I wanted. She allowed me the space to slowly look at the food on display. The croissant was flaky and crumbly on the exterior. The chicken mayo was just right; it wasn't too salty, creamy, or savoury. I like that the price is reasonable compared to other cafes.

I bought 6 croissants for one box this afternoon near Tampines MRT. The promotion is buy 6, get 2 free (the free items are fixed: currently chocolate soft bread). All of them look yummy, and the snow crab croissant is my favorite. Can't wait to taste other kinds of croissants next time.

This was my first time here. There are so many flavours available, and they all look so cute! As I can't eat overly sweet things, I started with the simpler ones first: Mini Snow Crab w/ Cheese Croissant, Mini Chicken Vienna w/ Cheese Croissant, Almond Chocolate Croissant, and Chocolate Chip Croissant ($1.30 each; buy 5 for $6). I would say the price is affordable, and the croissants are quite delicious! Their toppings are generous, and the crust is crispy and flaky. A perfect treat for brunch or a tea break!
