Came to take out and wanted to order the chicken skin that was displayed. However, the staff told me, 'No ma'am, I'm alone and can't do it. I'm only able to do it in the afternoon.' I was taken aback. If you are alone or short-staffed, then don't put up the sign.

Taste-wise, it's average for penyet. We picked the top 2 levels of chili, which were supposedly ranked by spiciness, but we didn't find them spicy. There didn't seem to be much difference between the skin of my special grilled chicken and the one my husband ordered. However, we agreed that the level 5 chili tasted nicer than the level 6 chili.

The smashed ayam penyet that cost me $9.20 came so small. Yet, the picture on their menu is so huge.
The smashed ayam penyet, which cost me $9.20, was surprisingly small. The picture on the menu showed a much larger portion. The bone took up more space than the actual chicken. Additionally, the two tau kwa pieces tasted sour. Overall, I had a bad dining experience here. There are many other more affordable and worthwhile food options available nearby.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. The chicken was somehow smaller at this outlet but decently grilled. The sambal was also quite good. However, the rice was very mushy. Plenty of seats at this outlet though, which is great. Food was ready pretty quickly after ordering.

Every dish served was quite tough, from the duck to the tauhu telur, to the point where my Muslim friend had to resort to eating with his hands because the cutlery wasn't strong enough. The only positive aspect of the cafe was its air-conditioned environment. We ended up eating there because every other restaurant at the ARC was full during lunchtime. Although the price was reasonable, the food was on the opposite end of the spectrum. They were also understaffed, with only two workers at the counter who had to double as table cleaners, resulting in forgotten orders until you reminded them. This will be the last time we try them out.

I don't know why it's 2 stars, but this outlet is the best, hands down! Tasty af, except for the Taliwang... uhh, no. The chicken is cooked to order, especially the Ayam Penyet. The sambal! Oh my, I love the level 8 sambal. Sambal Taliwang is a definite no-no. When I come here, I never fail to order extra! I love this place.

This restaurant is always packed with diners, especially during busy lunch hours. It's hard to get a seat, but finally, I can sit back comfortably while enjoying my delicious crackers and food being served. So much variety of food choices that always leads me to eat here weekly!

A nice ayam penyet outlet addition to the Alexandra Retail Centre. Quite a bit of choice on the men
A nice ayam penyet outlet addition to the Alexandra Retail Centre. There's quite a bit of choice on the menu, and six levels of spicy sambals you can choose from, ranging from level 1 (mild chilli sauce) to level 6 (fragrant red shallot sambal). Be aware that the normal spicy level is premium shrimp paste chilli sauce, in case you're allergic to shrimp.

Absolutely love D’Penyet at ARC! The ayam penyet is consistently crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with just the right amount of spice in the sambal – fiery but addictive! The portions are generous, and the rice is always warm and fluffy. I also appreciate how quick the service is, even during lunch hours. It’s my go-to spot whenever I’m craving comfort food with a kick. Highly recommended!
