The quality of the food is not as good as before. The chilli sauce and sweet sauce lack the punch they used to have. However, it is still one of the better Yong Tau Foo shops around.

The two staff who served me were very rude and pushy, insisting I speak Mandarin to them. I am Malay, and this is a halal establishment. Shouldn't they expect more Muslims and Malays to patronise here, many of whom cannot speak Mandarin? The target audience is quite different. I thought that was basic common sense. Fortunately, another staff member came and spoke to me in a language I could understand. I feel that if the cashier cannot speak my language, then the shop doesn't deserve my business. Why bother coming to a place that treats me rudely and forces non-Chinese speakers to speak a language they are not expected to understand?

Don't get me wrong, the food is as good as you can expect from any normal YTF shop. Just beware when ordering online because they might miss items from your order. So please check and double-check. We've experienced this multiple times before, and they don't seem to have improved.

For a yong tau foo place in the west side of SG to be Halal is a godsend, and it's always a go-to spot to satisfy my YTF cravings. However, despite serving good food, I was deeply saddened and disappointed by my recent trip when I was served by a rude staff member (a young Malay lady). On top of not understanding my order, she gave disgusted looks and was even laughing with other staff while I was standing at the counter. Only when a senior staff member repeated my order to her did she understand. To make matters worse, she assumed and told the other staff that I wanted it 'take-away' when I had clearly not specified. I told her it was for dining in, and she immediately rolled her eyes at me. I don't expect 5-star hotel levels of service, but to have this kind of attitude, especially in the service line, is unacceptable. Please do hire proper service staff next time with at least basic levels of respect for others, or it will definitely drive away potential customers.

I've patronised this place since I started living in Bukit Batok and I don't know why I haven't ever written a proper review for them. This is my go-to solo eat. I majorly love the Tom Yum YTF; it's got a great blend of the holy trinity of what makes tom yum yummy: spice, heat, and sourness. Every time I order this, I get all flushed and warm, not because it's too spicy, but it just has a perfect zing to it! I used to always patronise Jason YTF (Arab St) for their Tom Yum YTF, but I think Jason's Tom Yum YTF itself is sitting on the fence on whether they want to be tom yum (bland) or TOM YUMMY. The dining space is small though – avoid 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM, that's when the lunchtime crowd hits. The other downside is that they don't fry some of the YTF pieces; all of it is dropped into the bowl with your soup. Other than that, their dishes are a HIT!

Just visited last week. I'm not usually a fan of yong tau foo, so I ordered their belacan fried rice instead. Surprisingly delicious! I really recommend their fried rice; it came with two big prawns and was a generous portion.
