Kaaakis operates as a modern halal food court concept at Buangkok Square, located at Block 991 Buangkok Link #01-12, bringing together multiple popular Singapore food brands under one convenient roof. This innovative multi-brand establishment by Kiosks Collective represents a new approach to halal dining, where all participating stalls are either MUIS halal-certified or in the process of obtaining their halal certification. The food court serves the rapidly developing Buangkok area, providing residents and workers with diverse, Instagram-worthy halal dining options that cater to both traditional and contemporary tastes.
The establishment houses several renowned food brands including Crave Nasi Lemak, Ikan 1986 (specializing in freshly grilled otah), Ministry of Rojak, Heavenly Wang and Kapitan Noodle Bar, Crave Crispy Ayam and Padang Grill, and Old Amoy Chendol. This curated selection ensures that diners can enjoy everything from traditional Malay cuisine like nasi lemak to contemporary fusion dishes, all within a single location. The food court concept allows for varied pricing around 0 per person while maintaining the quality and authenticity that each individual brand is known for, making it an accessible option for families and young professionals in the area.
Kaaakis Buangkok Square represents part of a larger expansion strategy, with additional outlets at Pasir Ris West Plaza and Sun Plaza in Sembawang, demonstrating the concept's success in serving Singapore's eastern and northern regions. The establishment's focus on halal certification and diverse brand offerings makes it particularly valuable to the growing Muslim population in these developing residential areas. By combining the convenience of a food court with the quality assurance of established food brands, Kaaakis has created a dining destination that serves both as a convenient daily meal option and a social gathering place for the Buangkok community, contributing to the area's development as a comprehensive residential neighborhood with quality lifestyle amenities.

1. Needs aircon, too stuffy. This place only has fans, windows, and ventilation louvres. The fan blows hot wind from outside, and the ventilation louvres above make it an unpleasant place to dine in.
2. Lack of a proper drinks store. I do not want Heavenly Wang's expensive $2.50 Iced Kopi.
3. Little seating area. There is not much seating available.
4. Expensive and mediocre food. The prices here are above average. Head over to Kopitiam or Koufu for better options.

Regular coffeeshop with cafe pricing.
Heavenly Wang: I didn't realize it was Heavenly Wang when I ordered my coffee. But $2.20 for a large hot coffee in a stuffy food court, really?
Padang Grill:
Customer Service: The cashier gave my $1 change in four 5-cent coins and some 10-cent coins. Just wow.
Food: Nothing special to be charging $8 for. The food was below average. The egg and curry were subpar. The grilled chicken was alright.
(First and second pictures attached show the differences. They also did not provide the fish crackers.)
I wouldn't patronize again if most Koufu and Kopitiam stalls weren't closing for CNY.

Really, are we living in a world where nasi Padang can cost over $8? It should be a maximum of $6. How can anyone justify that pricing? The food is actually pretty good and one of the best, yet the portion is so small. Despite the food, I wouldn't come back due to the price. It seems the problem is high rent, as pointed out by other reviewers. I hope this gets addressed, as it's simply not worth it. It's quite insulting considering this is the only halal food court in the community.

Very expensive breakfast and not worth it. Marshmallow set is only one slice of bread(cut into half)
The breakfast was very expensive and not worth it. The marshmallow set consisted of only one slice of bread (cut in half) with Nutella on one side. Inside the bread, there were only 4 pieces of marshmallow! The set plus a drink cost $3.80, which is ridiculous. How could this cost $3.80 when the Kofu breakfast set costs $3 (which comes with a big bun with butter, a drink, and two eggs)? I ended up having to go to Koufu and buy additional food for breakfast after eating the marshmallow set. I'm not sure why the pricing for this new eating place is so expensive, especially considering it's the one and only Halal-certified store supporting this community. I likely will not visit this food court again.

Padang grill : I like the food. Customer service very good. Grilled/fried chicken/fish good. Sambal
Padang Grill: I like the food. Customer service is very good. The grilled/fried chicken/fish is good. Sambal is tasty. The egg is baked, not fried, and the texture is a bit weird for me. Don't buy at night as it's not as fresh. 4/5 stars.
Crave Crispy Ayam: Horrible. $7.90 for 2 tiny prawn paste chicken wings. I'm not sure about the hype. The chicken wings from the normal Crave Nasi Lemak store are so much better. 0/5 stars.
If not for the Crave chicken wing place, this food court is actually not bad. The $4 for a piece of average chicken wing brought the average rating down.

A refreshing change from usual food courts! Lunching with my daughter there, and she gave a thumbs up to the mentaiko spaghetti by Spaggie & Mee. It was very appetising and a large portion. The mentaiko cream was gorgeous, and I couldn’t help picking on her food! I had the KAPITAN noodles. Coffeeshop prices but heaps of ingredients! It included an onsen egg, a generous amount of minced chicken, ikan bilis with peanuts, and wanton. I'll try the $4.80 Ngor hiang minced chicken noodle next time! Overall, a very hearty and pocket-friendly place to go with children.

LOVE the Old Ah Moy street chendol and the service from their tall, broad-physiqued staff member, who was very friendly and approachable. He was able to customise my order for less sugar. I also tried the otah but found it to be too dry for my taste buds. The service at Crave's Crispy Ayam is also good; they were friendly too. Their shrimp paste chicken wings are a whopping $7.90 for a pair and tasted very different from traditional Chinese Zhi-Char stalls & restaurants. However, they are very crispy and would be much loved by kids. The upsized tea-O was a quite bank-breaking $2.20. Perhaps it's due to high rental rates that all these stall holders are charging such steep prices for their food. Not recommended for heartlanders on a budget.
