Mamanda

Mamanda is a distinguished halal catering company and restaurant operation in Singapore, with a name derived from the respectful term used to address state dignitaries and ministers by the Sultan. This prestigious nomenclature reflects the establishment's royal heritage and commitment to serving food fit for royalty, embodying the grandeur of traditional Malay palaces while making such culinary excellence accessible to modern diners.

Originally established as a restaurant in the iconic yellow building (Gedung Kuning) at 73 Sultan Gate near the Malay Heritage Centre in the Arab Street area, Mamanda became renowned as a haven of scrumptious Malay cuisine served in a setting that evoked the elegance of an Istana. The restaurant's signature dish, nasi ambeng, showcased the depth of Javanese and Indonesian culinary traditions with components including beef rendang, french beans with tempeh, crispy fried salted fish, fried desiccated coconut, bergedil, sambal prawns, sambal fish, beef lungs, and chicken in rich coconut milk curry broth.

In early 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, the owners made a strategic decision to relinquish the Gedung Kuning lease to focus on their expanding catering and manufacturing operations. This pivot proved successful, as Mamanda has since grown into a prominent catering service with an impressive track record of over 1,000 successful corporate events and weddings across Singapore and Malaysia. Today, the company produces and caters halal Malay, Chinese, Indian, Western, and Mediterranean cuisines, demonstrating remarkable versatility while maintaining strict halal standards.

Mamanda holds both halal certification and endorsement from the Health Promotion Board (HPB), reflecting their commitment to quality and health-conscious food preparation. The company now operates a restaurant location at Level 3 of the Chevrons clubhouse, continuing to offer their unique culinary experience. Through numerous accolades and awards, Mamanda has established itself as a leading name in Singapore's halal catering industry, using only fresh, natural ingredients while preserving the authentic flavors that made their original restaurant a beloved destination.
