Mel's Drive In brings classic 1950s American diner nostalgia to Universal Studios Singapore, located at Sentosa Gateway within the theme park's Hollywood zone. This halal-certified establishment recreates the iconic drive-in experience featured in the 1973 film American Graffiti, offering theme park visitors a convenient rest stop with air-conditioned seating and authentic American comfort food after enjoying thrilling rides and attractions.

The restaurant specializes in all-American favorites including their famous rocket sauce burgers, thick milkshakes, crispy onion rings, and classic fish and chips served in generous portions. Popular menu items include the Bolognese burger set meal (5) and indulgent desserts like brownie with ice cream, all prepared to satisfy hungry theme park guests seeking familiar comfort foods. The 1950s themed interior creates an immersive dining experience that complements Universal Studios' entertainment offerings.

While positioned as premium theme park dining with prices reflecting the location, Mel's Drive In serves as an essential refueling station for families exploring Universal Studios Singapore. The restaurant's convenient location near the park entrance, halal certification, and classic American menu make it a popular choice for Muslim families and international visitors seeking recognizable flavors during their theme park adventure, despite mixed reviews regarding value for money typical of entertainment venue dining.

Absolutely disgusted that I was asked to move on while eating with my family because I had a beer at the 'Halal' burger and fries restaurant. Firstly, there was only a small sign on one side of one of the entrance doors stating it was Halal. No other signs at all. If you don't want people to have alcoholic drinks in the area, you need to address the issue as you do with smoking. One little sign is inadequate, and to be stood over in front of my family and grandchildren until I left the area is appalling.

Great atmosphere, but honestly the food was lacking. The burger was okay but not very tasty; however, the fries were cold, and we had to get them changed. The chicken nuggets and milkshake were good, but I wouldn't recommend eating there. There are better options in the park for the same money, such as the pizza.

It's the most expensive burger and fries I've ever bought. But as long as my daughter is happy, it's fine. The burger cost about IDR 200k and IDR 100k for the fries.

The BBQ beef burger is good, but the chicken one is a bit dry, perhaps because I don't quite like chicken breast. Maybe an option for chilli ketchup sauce could be added. The fries seasoning is good enough. Overall, I feel full.

Visited Mel's Drive-In on a Saturday just before noon. The diner had a great retro vibe, and to our surprise, there was no queue at that time. Service was quick, and the food was served promptly. The tandoori chicken burger was a delightful twist—flavorful and satisfying. The sweet potato fries were crispy and paired well with the meal. Overall, a fun dining experience with a nostalgic atmosphere, perfect for a quick bite during your Universal Studios visit. Would recommend stopping by!
