Absolutely disappointing experience at Milan Tei, VivoCity. Firstly, the air conditioning was leaking directly onto our table. Looking up, the vents and ceiling corners were thick with dust and grime—completely unhygienic (see photo). The food? For the price, shockingly bad. The seafood paella was dry, tasteless, and came with a sad portion of two tiny clams, two scallops, and one overcooked prawn. The rice? More nasi minyak than paella—crispy and bland. The beef bolognese had barely any meat. It tasted like a diluted bottled sauce—no flavour, no substance, just carbs in disguise. The service was nonexistent. Not a single word from the staff throughout. When paying, I wasn’t even shown an itemized bill—just a silent nod when I asked. We paid a little over $50 for two mains, two sides, and two drinks. Totally overpriced for what felt like a self-service experience off a QR code. Japan Foods Holding, you do very well with your Japanese brands. But this one? Your Karen’s Diner in reverse. No sass, no service, no soul. With competitors offering way more value, this won’t cut it. I’m heading to Saizeriya next time. Do better. This is not acceptable.

The food was decent, but the waitress (Fidah) displayed very poor body language and rushed us to finish our meal as they were closing at 3pm. I had to pay my bill halfway through my meal. Really? Why the rush? One lady remained after 3pm and grumbled a “thank you” as she was leaving. She clearly didn’t want to be there. It was very poor service and could have been handled so much better.

Came with kids and ordered the vongole udon pasta and chicken pepperoni pizza. The clams were the same size as Saizeriya's but there were so many fewer. Saizeriya gives around 20 clams for their spicy tomato vongole. The pizza contains Tabasco sauce, which wasn't specified on the order page. We ordered it for the kids, but they weren't able to eat it because of the spiciness.

The food was normal, with no special recommendations. However, I feel the server Ms. Fidah needs to be more honest.
I ordered a mix-and-match item and one à la carte meal. The kitchen mistakenly prepared the chicken meatball gratin (brown) as chicken gratin (white). When I inquired with the server, she immediately stated that the picture was wrong or that I was seeing it incorrectly, without checking.
After it was discovered that the kitchen had made a mistake, she seemed worried I would argue and hid in the kitchen. Her service was generally okay, but this aspect needs improvement.
By the way, the portion size for the à la carte meal was not enough for one person.
Chicken meatball gratin (2/5) – fries with cream and cheese. The meatball tasted like Chinese ngoh hiang.
Seafood paella (1.5/5) - the rice was like claypot style with over-dry seafood. (Some grains were very hard and could potentially chip teeth, though not harmful to those with braces.)
Cheesecake (2/5) – just cheese, cream, and sponge cake.
1 pax = $28.54

Popped by this place for an easy lunch after some shopping, and both of us were impressed with the range of non-preserved food choices for the low price point. We ordered a Seafood Paella (confusing that this was available in a Japanese-Italian concept Halal restaurant), a Margarita Pizza, and a Hotplate of Cream-cheese Chicken to share.
The service was minimal but not absent. The restaurant layout made it clear that sauces, plates, and water were all self-served.
Food arrived, and we weren’t disappointed. The pizza, though containing minimal ingredients, tasted freshly baked. A little sprinkling of mozzarella (freshly unloaded, not stale) and chilli flakes gave the otherwise basic pizza a bit more punch. Next was the hotplate of Chicken Steak, and the piece we had was great – juicy, not fatty, and baked to perfection (aka crispy skin). The cream sauce drizzled on top wasn’t the most flavourful but it wasn’t rich to the point of jelatness. Lovely! And last came our Paella – the dish was very fragrant when served. The only disappointment was that the dish lacked moisture after being oven-baked for so long, thus we needed a lot more sprinkling of Tabasco to make it better.
A simple, fuss-free experience we had for lunch today.

The food is very affordable, and I was amazed at the price. The Cheese Quattro pizza was the best cheese pizza I've ever tasted, and it's only $8.90. Perhaps I'm biased because of the price, but it's genuinely delicious.
And the free-flow drinks at only $3.90 are really worth it.
For the price, I will definitely come back again to eat.

The restaurant delivered a pleasant dining experience. The Bolognese pasta had a well-seasoned sauce, providing a comforting classic. The curry baked rice was a slight disappointment. The salmon pizza was a unique fusion creation with creamy cheese and baked salmon, creating a delicious harmony. Overall, a satisfying meal with flavorful offerings.

Our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised! We thought the food was yummy and a nice twist from the ones at Saizeriya. The staff was also very kind to remind us that the hot plates were hot and to be careful.
We really enjoyed the udon pasta as it was al dente. We'll be back to try the other items on the menu!
