Their one of the Filipino waiter is using “ambiguous sales conduct”. We asked for a pot of tea for 3

One of the Filipino waiters exhibited ambiguous sales conduct. We asked for a pot of tea for three people to share. He recommended the white Earl Grey, which we accepted. Later, we were informed that refills were not allowed as it was a one-time serving. We felt cheated. We were there for more than just a cup of tea; we had also ordered other food to share. We were then pressured to order another pot of tea, Jasmine tea, which allowed for hot water refills. This practice is very unethical. Can anyone advise? Does this fall under unfair sales practices in the context of consumer protection law?

For a shop that specialises in selling tea, the tea quality served is bad. I ordered a Moroccan mint tea, and it came out very cloudy with a murky colour and lots of tea dust. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he claimed it was because this tea has caffeine. I drink all kinds of tea at home every day, and it's obvious that this scenario occurs because of the quality of tea used. Please don’t serve customers tea that looks like crushed leaves from the bottom of the tin. Just when I thought this was a one-off, I went to brew the tin of Silver Moon tea bought earlier. The same poor quality of tea appeared with lots of sediment, and I realised why. The tea leaves from TWG are broken and roughly torn.

☕ TWG "Tea on the Bay" 2 Bayfront Avenue 📍B1-122/125 ● The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore 018972 ____________________________________ ⚫️ Visited this high-end tea shop and tea cafe on 18th Aug 2025, a Monday late afternoon. ⚫️ There are two (2) TWG cafes at Marina Bay Sands mall. __________________________________ 📍 This one is located at the B1 level. It consists of both a tea boutique and an adjoining tea cafe at the other end. ☕ Both the tea shop and tea cafe are connected together in one elegant space. ___________________________________ 🛍️ Bought a pack of butter sable cookies priced at SGD10. The service and hospitality were excellent. 😊 The moment I walked in, the staff welcomed me warmly with genuine smiles. They patiently introduced the different teas and pastries, and also recommended cookies. ✨ The decor is ornate chic and refined, with TWG’s signature gold accents, shelves lined with colourful tea tins, and a cosy cafe area that feels luxurious yet inviting. ✴️ The ambience is calm and perfect for relaxing over a cup of tea. 💖 Love the TWG brand of omotenashi-style hospitality here. Will definitely be back again.

Went with my partner for an afternoon tea at TWG and no regrets! The service was superb, and I thank the server for recommending a tea that suited our taste buds (because there are just so many teas to choose from). The pastries were not too bad, especially the chocolate cake, which was heavenly! Will be back one day.

Went in on a Wednesday morning as they were opening at 10 am for tea for two. We were able to be seated very quickly and had a lovely view of the canal inside Marina Bay Sands. The open-air seating is surrounded by orchids and is vibrant and fresh. We ordered the classic breakfast tea each, which is $33 SGD each and comes with a pot of tea of your choosing (you can upgrade to special tea for an additional cost), 2 scones with cream and jelly, or 2 muffins and a freshly squeezed juice. I chose the passionflower tea, and it was delicious. The service was exquisite, and I very much enjoyed this quick tea stop during my shopping at Marina Bay Sands. After we dined, it's a quick walk to the TWG tea store where you can purchase tea to take away. Highly recommend for a traditional tea experience. Make sure you sign up for the Marina Bay Sands membership before you dine; it's free and you earn cashback to spend at other Marina Bay Sands stores/dining. If you keep an eye out for special offers in the app for tourists, special cardholders, etc., it's so worth it! Especially if you are spending a lot at the stores, your meals are practically free!

A really lovely spot for afternoon tea. The service was top-notch from the moment we walked in, and the ambience felt perfectly elegant. I was so impressed with the tea itself; it was amazing and came in a large pot, which was perfect for enjoying over conversation. Even though I'm not usually a big cakes person, their pastries were fantastic - almost too pretty to eat! For such a high-quality experience, I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't as pricey as it looks.
