Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak has been a legendary fixture at Adam Road Food Centre since 1998, earning distinguished recognition including a Michelin Bib Gourmand nod and royal approval from the Sultan of Brunei. Located at 2 Adam Road, this iconic hawker stall has become synonymous with Singaporean comfort food excellence, attracting queues that regularly stretch for at least half an hour during peak times.
What sets Selera Rasa apart is their unconventional use of basmati rice instead of traditional jasmine rice, creating a lighter, airier texture that differentiates their nasi lemak from competitors. The signature "Royal Rumble" set, priced under , combines fragrant coconut rice with fried chicken wings, a crispy potato patty, fiery sambal, fried anchovies, peanuts and otah fish cake, delivering a complete flavour experience that justifies the royal endorsement. The stall operates Monday to Thursday from 7am to 5pm, weekends from 7am to 3pm, and closes Fridays.
Selera Rasa's success led to expansion in 2014 with the creation of Crave Nasi Lemak, a chain that brought their recipes to multiple locations. Despite the expansion, the original Adam Road stall remains a pilgrimage site for nasi lemak enthusiasts seeking the authentic experience that earned this humble hawker international acclaim. The combination of quality ingredients, skillful preparation, reasonable pricing and proven pedigree continues to draw both local faithful and curious tourists to this corner of Adam Road Food Centre.

Tried yesterday, queued for 25 minutes. Yes, it's popular and the long queue is understandable because $3.50 for Biryani is definitely cheap. Each additional item added is only 50 cents.
The Biryani rice lacked flavour, and both the chicken (dry and wet) were tasteless. The gravy on the rice was pretty okay. However, the one served separately in a bowl with one piece of potato and little vegetables was totally tasteless.
Many people commented it's nice because, with the current economic crisis, it's definitely value for money and fills the stomach. But taste-wise, go taste it yourself – it's far behind par! Lots to improve. CHEAP does not equal GOOD.

Pretty good for the price of just S$3.50. You get a filling lunch of either mutton, chicken, or fish. Most of the flavour comes from the spicy curry, tender mutton, or crispy chicken. Be prepared for a long queue, but it's worth it to eat at Old Airport Road for this, then top it off with dessert from any of the stalls there.

The queue started as early as 10 am and they began selling around 10:50 am. However, it was quite fast, and I didn't have to wait too long. The portion was enough to fill a tummy. I tried the mutton briyani, and it was great.

$3.50 for biryani.
Long queue, about a 45-minute wait during Monday lunch hours. The taste is different from standard Indian curry.
A must-try if you pass by. The portion is big.
Eggs are an additional $0.50 if you want them.
The curry served inside contains tiny vegetables and potatoes.

Was at Old Airport Road Hawker Centre for lunch this afternoon. Upon stepping in, I noticed the queue for the nasi biryani was short, so I decided to join it. The queue for this stall is usually very long, or they sell out early.
Their biryani comes with three different types of meat: mutton, chicken, and fish. A plate starts from SGD$3.50. The chicken biryani meat was fried and well-marinated; however, it might get a little salty towards the end. The portion of food was huge, with each plate of biryani coming with a generous portion of achar and a small bowl of curry gravy. I added an extra 50 cents for a packet of papadum.
For someone like me who seldom eats biryani, I personally feel that the food was not bad.

Oct 2018, Biryani at $3.5. Mutton, chicken, and fish available. Long grain rice used, not basmati. Some achar (preserved salad) added for fibre. The mutton is soft and melts in the mouth. I added a fried chicken thigh for an additional cost. The chicken was deep-fried just right.

GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY! There are 3 Briyani sets - mutton, chicken, and fish, and it costs only $3.50! The downside is the queue. There's a perennial queue, but it also affirms its taste and popularity. I usually get the fried chicken drumstick set... love it! MUST TRY! Best time to queue is around 11:30 am.
