Really good and authentic Indonesian food. This place is underrated and deserves more attention. The Ayam Bakar is definitely a must-try. $15 for half a chicken, perfectly grilled with that rich, authentic Bakar flavour. It's tender, juicy, and so fragrant. Please order it when you visit.

Food here is amazing and surprisingly not crowded for a Sunday evening. The char on the meat is simply amazing!
Had the ayam, bebe, and seabass, which had great char and went well with the different chilies.
Also had the soup and eggplant, which was good too.
All good, but the chocolate milkshake felt a bit underwhelming.
The staff was also friendly and explained the menu well for newcomers.

The decor is decent and the menu spread offers variety. We liked the portions, which looked sufficient. The lunch sets offer good value at $12.50. We will drop by again when we are in the vicinity.

1) Environment: Cozy and clean, with nice paintings. We arrived around 8+ pm, nearing 9 pm, and there were no other customers. We LOVED the music, especially me. The playlist was nostalgic and filled with sing-along songs. Love, love, love it.
2) Service: 100% welcoming, even though we arrived quite close to their closing hours. We had been to a few restaurants before, but were rejected due to being full or nearing closing time. However, at Taliwang, they accepted us even though they were already preparing to close. We truly appreciated this kind gesture, especially as we were trying to celebrate my husband's success that night.
3) Drink: We ordered iced bandung and water (they don't have cold water). I must say, it was the very first time I had frothed bandung, and I loved it. We both loved it. We could taste the rose and the milk, nicely blended together.
4) Food:
I ordered Bakwan Jagung for myself as I was quite full. I loved the sauce, and my husband loved the bakwan. It was his first time eating bakwan jagung. The bakwan reminded me of Bekasi, Jakarta – nicely done. The only slight drawback was the price; $9 for a plate of bakwan. However, I can understand this due to the location, as rent might be expensive.
My husband ordered the Wagyu cheeseburger, which had some sambal in it. It also came with fries and salad. We loved it. The patty was so juicy and tender. Since my husband doesn't eat vegetables, I finished his salad, and I must say the salad dressing was nice. The portion was just right for one person.
5) Did I mention that you can get 10% off your next visit by showing your receipt? You can simply take a picture of your receipt and show it to them on your next visit!!
Overall, we recommend this place for its friendly service, cozy environment, and delicious food and drinks. It's especially recommended for those wanting to experience Indonesian fusion cuisine; this might be another restaurant for you to explore.

Taliwang Restaurant isn’t just about food—it adds a nice touch of inspiration too. When we dined there on April 22, we were seated at Table 2, which had a quote that said, “Believe! And the impossible becomes possible.” While waiting for our food, I spotted another quote on the next table: “Do it now! Sometimes 'later' becomes 'never.'” Together, they gave off a positive, go-getter vibe—like a gentle push to dream big and stop putting things off.
For our meal, the two of us shared broccoli with mushrooms, Tiger prawns in sambal with petai, chicken wingettes, two plates of white rice, and warm water. Every dish came packed with flavor, but what really stood out was the broccoli—it had a mix of sauces that worked so well together. The chicken wingettes were also tasty, clearly well-marinated. The food was good; we polished off everything.
The restaurant itself has a cozy, clean setup, making it a really comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The server was friendly and helpful, even taking the time to explain the sauces when we asked. With great food, a relaxing atmosphere, and some inspiring words on the table, Taliwang made our visit a pretty memorable one.
