While having breakfast near this stall, I noticed the stallholders were preparing their briyani quite early, around 10 am. They seemed to have a lot of preorders and were busy packing. Curious, I decided to try their fish briyani since it was a Friday special. Overrated. Yes, they use olive oil, but paying $7 for plain-tasting, colourful rice just isn't worth it. I'm not sure if their chicken and mutton would be good, but I don't think I'll risk it. I'll stick to my favourite Dil B from Changi Village.

I had the mutton biryani even though I asked for the chicken biryani. The mutton was soft and served with a giant portion of rice. They use olive oil, which is great for health-conscious individuals. Traditionally served on a banana leaf, plastic cutlery is also provided for those who prefer not to eat with their hands (the traditional Indian way!). Overall, the dish was okay; not too spicy and the meat was soft. There are lots of biryani options at Tekka Market, and I'm sure anyone would be spoilt for choice.

The meat is the heart of the dish. The generous portion of chicken drumstick is perfectly cooked until it's tender and not overdone, with skin and flesh that glisten, a deep golden. The spiced marinade—rich with olive oil, garlic, ginger, and a myriad of spices—has worked its magic, creating meat that’s almost falling off the bone. A bite reveals that it's been marinated for hours, so each piece is juicy, succulent, and packed with a rich and wholesome flavour! My favourite Biryani stall in SG!

SUMMARY: EXCELLENT. RECOMMENDED: MUTTON. Tried the mutton ($8) and chicken ($7) briyani. Supposedly, they use olive oil for their briyani. I can't verify this, but it definitely tasted light and healthy. The rice was fluffy and flavourful on its own, without any gravy needed. The mutton was soft, tender, and yummy. The chicken (usually not my favourite type of briyani) was better than most. Their self-made acar is amazing as well, better than most. Their dal chal is perfect too, and mine came with meat. It’s pricier than other briyani stalls in the area, but the extra $0.50 is so worth it, especially for the portion you're getting. Highly, highly recommended.

The plate of dum nasi biryani is a feast for both the eyes and the senses. The rice itself is a perfect blend of fluffy, long-grain basmati, each grain separate yet infused with the rich flavors of olive oil, giving it a golden hue that is as inviting as it is beautiful. The basmati grains shimmer, promising a burst of earthy, floral taste with every bite. Nestled among the rice are tender morsels of meat—succulent chicken, slow-cooked in a spiced marinade until each piece is infused with deep, savory flavor. The meat is perfectly cooked, soft but not mushy, and almost falls off the bone. The spice mix is bold yet balanced, warming without being overwhelming, and the slow-cooking method ensures every bite is deeply flavorful, with hints of garlic, ginger, and onion that have all melded together into a rich, comforting base. On the side, a cooling dollop of achar. Every mouthful will contain a wedge of pineapple sprinkled with cumin or a few slices of cucumber to add to a refreshing bite. As you dig in, the mix of textures is just as satisfying as the flavors: the soft, fragrant rice; the tender, flavorful meat; the crunch of the achar. Each mouthful is an explosion of spices, layers of flavor that seem to tell a story with every bite, deep and complex, yet comforting and familiar. It's a dish that feels both celebratory and homey, a perfect harmony of fragrance and home-cooked comfort.

The only biryani cooked in olive oil lives up to expectation. Love the texture and non-oiliness of the rice, flavorful! Ordered the chicken and it is soft and juicy. Will definitely try other varieties. The uncle is also very polite. By the way, the ginger tea in the same lane on the extreme left when facing the store is yummy and strong.
