Lately, they've become too lazy to open for more than two days in a row. Most of the time, they are closed. I loved their nasi lemak, but the fact that they are having more and more irregular opening days is insane.

Has been closed for 3 weeks straight now. Quite disappointed because this is the only stall that has mee soto. Although other stalls have mee rebus and nasi lemak, they didn’t taste as nice. Usually, if they are open, there will be a long queue, which is good for their business. Not sure why there’s no reason for closing. They should have put up a sign so customers won’t get disappointed. Wonder if they are closed for good.

I brought my own plastic containers to take away nasi lemak for my kids. The server said I had to use their plastic container (30 cents each) or the paper wrap (FOC). I explained that the paper wrap wasn't ideal as the sambal would mix with the rice, and my kids are still learning to eat chilli. The server still refused to let me use my own containers. I opted for the paper wrap with less sambal. On second thought, I decided to transfer the food from the paper wrap to my own plastic containers. I took a plastic bag to carry my food, but the server shouted at me to pay 20 cents for the plastic bag. He said he couldn't give away free plastic bags to everyone, but I was his customer and only took one plastic bag in total! He then said the government rule was to charge for plastic bags. I told him that applied to supermarkets. Later, he said if I wasn't happy, I could go complain about him. Food-wise, the nasi lemak rice was very mushy and soggy.

The Nasi Lemak was just okay. Last week, I had the mee rebus and bagedil, and soon after, I experienced a stomach ache and diarrhea. I thought it might have been a one-off incident. This week, I tried the mee siam, which was served quite warm, and again, shortly after, I had diarrhea again! I've banned this place and will stop going here.

Has been a regular customer since the 90s when the original cook was operating the stall. They were the nicest folks ever. But when the next generation took over, it wasn't the best. Then it slowly got better. However, in the past 1-2 years, their operating days have been getting fewer and fewer, opening at most 3-4 days a week. Don't rely on their opening days as stated on Google, as they are sometimes not open on Mondays and Tuesdays, even when Google says they are. Customer service could be better, especially from the front counter staff. He can be somewhat rude to some customers and is often moody, but people still come for the affordable food.

A simple shop, but it can be considered a legendary one here at this market. Their Nasi Lemak is simply in the top 3 for me. They also offer other dishes like Mee Siam, Mee Soto, and Mee Rebus. The shop has been passed down, and now the Makcik's sons have taken over for a few years. That said, the taste has remained consistent. I grew up in this area and have been eating here since I was a child. The moment they open their stall at 0730, you can see a line forming for the Nasi Lemak. As for the price, it's very affordable. I always have to buy some for my niece on the weekend when she visits. Don't expect their Nasi Lemak to be the prim, proper, and perfect ones you see from popular shops or companies like Crave, etc. Their Nasi Lemak is a PROPER recipe and has the traditional taste of nasi lemak.

Great nasi lemak and mee siam. Noteworthy items that I tried: fragrant coconut rice, which had definition. 粒粒分明. Not clumpy. The ikan bilis was excellent. Finally, we get a salty treat that is not sugar-coated, and is crisp to the last bite. Chicken wing was well-marinated, and the galangal marinade could be tasted. Freshly fried on site. The mee siam brought back lots of memories. It tasted like one that was made from scratch all those years ago. I really hope more chefs can carry on this tradition, as central kitchens just can't replicate food this way. Otah was okay. Long queue to be expected! Even at 10 am on a Sunday.
