Yakader Muslim Food has been serving authentic Nasi Briyani and Indian Muslim cuisine for over 20 years from their stall at Tekka Centre in the heart of Little India. Located at 665 Buffalo Road, this halal Muslim-owned establishment has built a loyal following with their three signature briyani varieties - chicken, mutton, and fish - alongside tasty chicken kebabs that draw consistent queues throughout the day.
The restaurant operates from 10am to 7pm daily, with the long queues testament to their popularity, though service moves quickly thanks to efficient operations honed over two decades. Customer reviews consistently praise the food quality, with one describing it as out of this world. The establishment has earned a 3.8 rating on Tripadvisor, ranking among thousands of restaurants in Singapore's competitive dining scene.
Situated within Tekka Centre food court, Yakader Muslim Food benefits from the vibrant Little India atmosphere while serving both the local Indian Muslim community and visitors exploring the neighbourhood. The stall's longevity in one of Singapore's most authentic hawker centres speaks to their consistent quality and fair pricing. Done dum style, with the meat and rice layered together with spices and cooked for hours.
They're generous with the portion; the turmeric-stained rice is loose and fluffy, light with grainy sweet spice notes.
The mutton carries a more intense taste profile, bold with meaty, savoury, salty spice notes, not overly gamey. It comes apart with a light chew.
Discovered a hard-boiled egg buried beneath, a welcome eggy sweet treasure. The crunchy pickled cucumbers lend vegetal sweet, sour, spicy flavour, while a bowl of mild curry gravy rounds this out.

Came by for lunch, ready to try another mutton biryani from this hawker centre. The plate came with egg, mutton, achar (pickled veg), biryani rice, and rasam. The mutton is bone-in, which is always welcome. However, most parts of the mutton were on the drier side, which was disappointing. It makes me wonder what most people in the queue are buying. The egg is hard-boiled, and the rasam is mild in taste. The rice is fluffy and fragrant.

The person serving the meal was, at best, judging people based on their body size. I'm a skinny dude, and hence he thinks I deserve a smaller piece of meat compared to others? Look at the measly piece of meat on the side compared to the rice he gave. He even took out two pieces of meat, left them aside to tempt me, before giving me a piece of meat appropriate for a skinny dude.
You can do better than judging how much a person can eat based on their size. You are better off buying from other biryani stalls nearby.

This is a popular stall for Nasi Biryani, as can be observed by the long queue. The queue was, however, fast-moving as the food was prepared beforehand and there were limited selections. The portion was generous, and the Biryani tasted above average. Good value for money.

The briyani mutton ($7 SGD).
The briyani rice is fragrant and fluffy.
The mutton chunk has lesser meat, depending on luck. I personally prefer mutton cut in cube shape.
Overall, a good experience.

I was told it's one of the best biryani in town. I tried the mutton and chicken versions, which were good. There's also a fish version, all for $6.50. It's good value, but I didn't think it was the best I've ever tried.

Excellent biryani. Served on a tray with a fork for those not keen to eat with their hands. It’s like eating in a bus station, but memorable, tasty, and recommended. My experience has been that you won’t find this kind of authentic food outside the hawker centres. At $6-7 SGD, it's amazing value for Singapore.
