When Parkway Parade officially opened in March 1984, it pioneered the concept of suburban mega-malls in Singapore. Located approximately eight kilometres east of the Central Business District along Marine Parade Road, the development combines a 22-storey office tower with a seven-storey shopping mall and basement, creating a landmark that has served the eastern coastal communities for over four decades. As one of Singapore's first major suburban shopping centres, Parkway Parade built an impressive track record, attracting 12 million visitors annually by the early 1990s.
