Halal Food in Taman Jurong Food Centre
Taman Jurong Market and Food Centre at 3 Yung Sheng Road carries a piece of Singapore's hawker history within its modern multi-storey structure. The original Yung Sheng Food Centre opened in July 1972 with 60 permanent stalls, earning it the popular nickname "60 stalls". In 2005, it was redeveloped and merged with Corporation Drive Market and Corporation Drive Food Centre to create today's amalgamated facility housing 123 cooked food stalls and 57 market stalls.\n\nThe current building spans multiple levels: wet market on Level 1, hawker stalls on Levels 2 and 3, and parking on Levels 4 and 5. Despite its location in the far west, Taman Jurong Food Centre draws islandwide visitors for its standout stalls. Feng Zhen Lor Mee has achieved near-legendary status among lor mee enthusiasts. Other crowd favourites include 58 Minced Meat Noodle for bak chor mee, Xin Sheng Gor Hiong Prawn Cracker, De Ji Hong Kong Soy Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle, and Tai Seng Fish Soup.\n\nFor Jurong West residents, this is their central community hub - where they shop for groceries, grab daily meals, and run into neighbours. For food hunters willing to make the trek west, it is proof that some of Singapore's best hawker food still thrives far from the city centre.
