I had a very odd experience just now. I was having a hard time choosing what to eat for dinner when I visited here. I wanted to try out the North Indian stall, so I was in front of it. I saw one of their staff chopping what seemed to be chicken meat on the floor, using a chopper and chopping board. I was shocked, as the chopping board was near the floor trap. So, I decided NOT to buy food there and just ordered drinks instead, while explaining to the cashier what I saw. I explained in Malay, "Can you please tell that stall (North Indian stall) not to chop or prepare any food on the floor? I believe it's disgusting and it's near the floor trap." The cashier (an Indian guy) acknowledged and agreed with me. As I sat down enjoying my drink, I saw the cashier proceeding to tell the staff of the stall off. Obviously, there was a bit of argument here and there. As the situation cooled, the same cashier approached me and said in Malay, "Abang, you did not see properly lah, he was chopping habok (dust) on the floor!!" I did not want to argue or create a scene, so I just replied "ok". (In my heart) I thought, "Why the hell would you want to chop habok on the floor with a chopper and chopping board???? What absurd excuse is this? I know what I saw, but I do not want to cause a stir in people's business." Come on man, do you think I would believe this excuse? The guy who works in the stall doesn't look local or Malaysian, by the way. Bukan nak give ridiculous claims uh, but most of the patrons of this teh tarik are senior citizens and kids. I do hope bende macam gini tak akan berlaku lagi. Again, I am not trying to badmouth their business; I am just concerned with what I saw. Honestly, habok, you say??
