Ordered three dishes: steamed fish, fried chicken, and one vegetable. The fried chicken was undercooked, with a rubbery texture and visible blood in all pieces. We were charged for the steamed fish (red snapper/sea bass/pomfret) at the price stated in the menu, but were charged differently because it was pomfret. Our vegetable order was missed. When we approached them about it, they cooked it for us but required additional payment, as the initial amount paid was exact for the fish and chicken only. They did not inform us of the price difference for the specific fish during ordering.

One of the best homemade Sambals, leaning towards a more savoury than sweet kick - I like it! Ask for the stingray to be less "overcooked"; ours came a little too cooked. But nonetheless, it was still nice. The portion was slightly small for $15.00; it could be better.

The food was okay, but the portion sizes were very bad. It felt like a daylight scam. We ordered a $60 crab and were only given one piece. The $25 stingray portion was only enough for one person. The $15 fried chicken portion was also very disappointing. Avoid this place at all costs. It was a waste of over $100. The auntie and uncle running this stall in Newton Food Centre are scammers.

Whoever blogged about this stall recommending their Stingray must have eaten rubbish without realizing. The rice was cold and of low quality, and the meat was rubbery. Perhaps the chef is underpaid. There's no passion at all. Luckily, I didn't order any other dishes. Skip this stall; they won't survive.

I googled for Halal seafood at Newton and this stall came up. I decided to try it for the first time. As my family was hungry, I tried to order via HP using the number published on the website before we arrived. The person answered promptly and I asked for the menu via WhatsApp. He asked how many minutes we would be reaching so as not to cook too early. He also updated us that a table was reserved for us. When we arrived, our food came one by one very fast. Importantly, the food was delicious and met my expectations. Every dish ordered was nice and the price was reasonable as expected. Service was good too. I will come back again. Highly recommended.

We ordered stingray, sambal sotong, fried rice, and kang kong. Everything arrived very quickly and piping hot! The sotong was very well-seasoned and tender. The stingray portion was huge and generously slathered with sambal. The kang kong portion was also substantial. We will definitely return and reorder other dishes.

The BBQ stingray is very good, grilled well. Inside, it's moist and juicy. The condiment complements the dish very well too. The sambal on top is a generous serving and tasty. It is especially good for people who can't take spicy food. Personally, I wished it was just a little bit spicier. Maybe that's the Nonya stingray? I might have to try that next time. But overall, good stuff!
