Ordered the crispy oyster omelette, and while it was crispy, it was also burned. You could taste the burned egg. The oysters also tasted bitter and off. The main point of an oyster omelette is the oyster, but I only managed to eat 2-3 pieces.
My other order was the Hokkien mee, which had a so-so taste. It's not something I'd order again.
Tenderbest's fried chicken skin tasted the same as at any other branch, which is a positive note.
Overall, if I crave these dishes, I'll skip this place and try somewhere else.

Tried the $4.50 chicken wing nasi lemak. The chicken wing was small and cold, lacking flavor. They were very generous with the chilli, but it was mostly sweet and not spicy enough to have a real kick. The rice and egg were nothing to shout about.
Perhaps the XXL chicken wing nasi lemak set at $7.50 would be a better portion for big eaters.
Nice atmosphere with hip music, and convenient parking just behind the coffeeshop.

I was here on May 18th afternoon for a takeaway of their carrot cakes. To my utter shock and disbelief, I opened the takeaway box to find it filled with small pieces of black, burnt carrot cake. Every side of the carrot cake was stuck with so many charred flakes that there was no way to remove them! What you see in the pictures is an understatement of how bad it was, because I had already flipped the pieces to check the inside before deciding to take pictures. The cook (Malay/Indian guy) and the Chinese aunty at the cashier both knew how bad the condition of the carrot cakes were, but still packed it and nonchalantly gave it to me. The cook knew because he cooked it. The aunty also knew because when she asked if I wanted chilli, she was holding the charred carrot cake container in her hand and looking into it. However, because she stood behind the ingredient shelving at a fair distance, I couldn't see that the carrot cakes were charred. She then placed the receipt on top of the box, which blocked the view when I peeked into the plastic bag. I then, out of convenience and trust that the food was okay, left. Their act is very dishonest, lacking integrity, and shows zero concern for consumers' health. If you wonder why I didn't confront them after realizing the food was this bad, it's because I took it away during lunchtime for dinner at home, and I live in Toa Payoh. By the time I saw it, it was already 7 pm, and I had already left Ang Mo Kio long ago. Ang Mo Kio is a neighbourhood with many elderly, and nobody would want their folks to ingest food like this.

Ordered the chicken cutlet and Laksa fried rice, but both were way too salty—it felt like I was dining in the ocean, as the saltiness overpowered everything.

It is a nice restaurant to dine at. There is enough room to seat 40 people. A wide variety of Western and Asian food is available to choose from. Due to the cold environment, food does get cold quickly, so one may spend less time chilling, eating, and talking.
Overall, this place is suited for family and friends, and it is not crowded.

Got the black carrot cake, and it was pretty good. It's cheap and I would recommend it. The portion size might be a bit small for big eaters or guys, so it's better to get a larger one if you're really hungry. However, the hash brown was a bit sour and tough, so I wouldn't recommend that.
