Heavenly Wang stands as a distinguished halal-certified Chinese restaurant chain that beautifully bridges Singapore culinary heritage with contemporary dining expectations, tracing its remarkable history back to 1953 when Wang Jiao was first established along the iconic Bugis Street. This heritage brand has evolved from humble beginnings serving local-styled breakfast favorites to become a comprehensive dining destination that celebrates traditional Singaporean and Chinese cuisine while maintaining strict halal certification across all locations.
The restaurant name Wang Jiao, meaning Prosperous Corner in Chinese, reflects the brand foundational mission of creating gathering spaces where communities can enjoy authentic flavors and meaningful conversations. This philosophy continues today through multiple strategically located outlets including Changi Airport Terminal 3 #01-25, Waterway Point at 83 Punggol Central #B1-44, KK Women and Children Hospital at 100 Bukit Timah Road #01-33a, Plaza Singapura, Orchard Gateway, and various hospital locations throughout Singapore.
What sets Heavenly Wang apart in Singapore competitive dining landscape is their exceptional commitment to traditional breakfast culture, featuring signature toast made with brown sliced bread toasted over authentic piping hot grills and served with their proprietary Heavenly Wang Signature Kaya spread. The kaya, prepared using traditional recipes and premium ingredients, delivers the authentic flavors that have made this spread a beloved part of Singapore breakfast tradition for generations.
The restaurant takes particular pride in their soft-boiled eggs, which were voted Best Eggs by The Sunday Times, demonstrating their dedication to sourcing quality ingredients and maintaining consistent preparation standards. These perfectly cooked eggs, with their silky whites and golden yolks, represent the attention to detail that defines the Heavenly Wang dining experience.
Beyond breakfast specialties, the menu showcases an impressive array of heritage noodle staples including authentic Laksa with its rich, aromatic coconut-based broth, traditional Mee Siam featuring rice vermicelli in tangy tamarind gravy, and classic Mee Rebus with its thick, flavorful potato-based sauce. Each noodle dish is prepared using traditional techniques while incorporating halal-certified ingredients to ensure accessibility for Muslim diners.
The comfort food offerings extend to nutritious congee cooked in rich chicken stock base with minced chicken and braised peanuts, providing warming, easily digestible options perfect for any time of day. Their signature chicken rice features tender, succulent chicken served with perfectly seasoned rice and complemented by simmered cabbage that adds freshness and texture to the complete meal.
The restaurant ambiance reflects their commitment to creating nostalgic dining experiences, featuring trademark biscuit walls and carefully curated design elements that evoke the charm of traditional kopitiams while providing modern comfort and convenience. This thoughtful atmosphere design makes every visit feel like a journey through Singapore culinary history.
Modern convenience is prioritized through comprehensive delivery partnerships with GrabFood, Deliveroo, and Foodpanda, allowing customers to enjoy authentic Heavenly Wang dishes from the comfort of their homes or offices. The efficient delivery system ensures dishes arrive hot and fresh, maintaining the same quality standards as dine-in experiences.
The hospital locations demonstrate Heavenly Wang community-focused approach, providing comfort food options for patients, families, and medical staff who need convenient, nutritious, and culturally familiar meals during challenging times. These specialized locations maintain full menu offerings while adapting service styles to healthcare environments.
Whether you are seeking authentic Singapore breakfast traditions, exploring heritage noodle dishes, or looking for halal-certified Chinese cuisine that honors both tradition and modern dietary requirements, Heavenly Wang offers a comprehensive dining experience that celebrates the rich tapestry of Singapore multicultural food heritage while ensuring every guest feels welcomed and satisfied.

Heavenly Wang has a habit of their food being unavailable, even in the afternoon, especially during promotions. This happened to me a few years ago before COVID during an NDP promotion voucher at the Punggol Safra branch – the food was already gone by the afternoon. It happened again on 2 Sep 2024 at this branch for their Safra fifty cents promotion. I arrived at 3 pm, but the porridge was no longer available. The Malay ladies were generally friendly and informed me of this. I returned before 9 am on 3 Sep 2024 and managed to order. With barely any customers at that time, service was fast. The porridge was above average, and the youtiao was quite dense and firm. My low star rating reflects my unhappiness at wasting my transport money, effort, and time to come here twice just to use a voucher.

Terrible experience. The staff were rude and unwelcoming, especially towards us. As I was wearing a hijab, we were clearly treated differently. We received strange looks and felt uncomfortable the entire time. Even my kids were spoken to rudely. The food was below average. It's sad to see such blatant discrimination still happening. We definitely won't be coming back.

I stopped by Heavenly Wang at Mount Faber to grab a quick coffee while waiting for Kitty. I have a fond memory of their tea – some of the best I've had, back when I was hospitalized. The tea in the hospital cafe was truly remarkable, with a strong aroma and a richness that reminded me of Ya Kun's coffee.
This time, I decided to try their coffee instead. While it wasn't bad, I found it a bit less fragrant than Ya Kun's, which remains my favorite. I ordered the coffee and Yuan Yang soft bread at $4.90, but the bread was just okay and unfortunately not warm. The set (coffee and Yuan Yang soft bread) cost $6.50.
The atmosphere was alright, but the enclosed space felt a bit warm. The service was fast and efficient.
Overall, it was a decent experience. While I wasn't overly impressed with the coffee and bread, if you're waiting for someone at Mount Faber, Heavenly Wang is still a decent option. They have ample seating, so it's a good spot for a cup of coffee or tea. Alternatively, you can also check out the food court just beside the establishment.

The staff might need their eyes checked or enroll in acting classes, as they rudely told me the noodles were exactly as advertised when I inquired upon receiving my order. You be the judge based on the picture I've attached

Indoor seating, inconsistent air con, staff x 1 to serve from casher->drinks bar-> trays clearing.
Indoor seating, but the air conditioning is inconsistent. Staff is stretched thin, with only one person serving from the cashier to the drinks bar and clearing trays.
Personally, the drink (kopi iced volcano) was too sweet for me.

The food may not look very appetizing, but the taste is amazing! It tastes very traditional, and they took the time to heat up my chicken luncheon meat and fish cake. Good service by a Thai lady here as well.

The coffee here is quite good; the bitterness is just nice to wake me up from my slumber, but not overwhelmingly so. The soft bread is delicious, and you can try the coffee-flavoured version to add even more boost to your meal. The egg is also easy to crack open to a soft and runny texture. The place has plenty of seating, and there is also a toilet nearby, which is a plus.

For our Saturday lunch, we decided to try Heavenly Wang's local food ordered via Foodpanda since we had a welcome voucher to use. We ordered mee rebus, laksa, mee siam, and ayam masak manis yellow rice. The packaging of each dish was well done. The taste was really good, especially the laksa (lush gravy) and chicken rice (tender grilled chicken). The presentation of the food was also good, with each item placed nicely in its pack. For the price paid, this is definitely a reasonable choice compared to other similar cafes. However, their tea was rather disappointing. It had a weird taste that my hubby and I did not enjoy. Overall, we will definitely try again, minus the tea.

One of the many food choices around in Safra.
We decided to have a short break here, enjoying coffee, eggs, and toast. It's the typical comfort food for locals.
Let's dive in!
Food:
Well, it's soul food and the offerings are rather similar everywhere.
Service:
The staff member was alone, so we had to wait a bit as they were handling everything from cashiering to clearing and cleaning. On the downside, the smiles weren't there, and the staff member was just being monotonous.
Atmosphere:
The place looks bright and empty, with no one around except for one other person. The only plus point is that it's air-conditioned and spacious between seats.
All in all, the location is the best part of it all. So yeah, check out the images.
Cheers!!
