Mr Bean stands as Singapore's leading soy-based food and beverage retail chain, established in 1989 with a mission to reconnect life's simple pleasures through fulfilling and inviting food experiences. Originally starting as a humble family bakery serving the local community with traditional confectioneries and bread, the brand has evolved into a comprehensive halal-certified chain with 64 outlets across Singapore. What makes Mr Bean truly special is its commitment to healthy, soy-based products that cater to both sweet and savory preferences, making it a popular destination for health-conscious consumers seeking halal dining options.

The menu at Mr Bean showcases an impressive variety of soy-centric offerings, from their signature Original Recipe pancakes filled with red bean, tuna, chicken mayo, kaya cheese, and innovative seasonal flavors like Gula Melaka and Curry Chicken with Potato. Their wholesome rice bowls feature meat-free alternatives like Japanese Curry and Truffle Mushroom options, while their beverage selection ranges from classic soy milk at $2.50 to exotic drinks like Icy Sea Salt Chendol at $5.20. The brand also offers nutritious rice balls, silky beancurd, grass jelly combinations, and healthy soy granola bars, ensuring there's something for every dietary preference and taste profile.

Mr Bean's recent achievement of complete MUIS halal certification across all outlets represents a significant milestone in Singapore's inclusive dining landscape, making quality soy-based nutrition accessible to the broader Muslim community. The brand's focus on affordability, with most items priced under $6, combined with their commitment to fresh daily preparation and healthy ingredients, positions them as a cornerstone of Singapore's fast-casual dining scene. Their continuous innovation in developing new flavors while maintaining traditional appeal demonstrates their understanding of evolving consumer preferences and their dedication to serving Singapore's diverse culinary landscape.

Very rude service from Edwina, one of the staff. I accompanied my elderly in-laws (first time in Singapore) to buy snacks. They asked many questions about the food as the menu was unfamiliar to them. Edwina responded impatiently and rudely. When asked about the taste of an item, she said, "How should I know? I never tried it before." Then she went and prepared a coffee for us while my mother-in-law was choosing additional orders. When she asked for another coffee, Edwina let out a very audible sigh of frustration. We never asked her to start on the first coffee, so I don't understand why she was upset that we had another coffee to add. Why didn't she wait for the whole order? I was supposed to buy my own food from them but decided against it. I don't want to patronize this stall because of Edwina's behaviour. She was very rude to elderly people. Her rudeness was also unprompted โ€“ no one from our side raised their voice, even after her first comment, but she continued this behaviour.

Very RUDE service from Edwina on 15th Aug 2025 at 9:37pm. You could have just politely told your customer that you were closing! There was no eye contact when I spoke to her. This is not the first time! โ€ฆ

A great spot for a quick breakfast or afternoon snack, perfect for early risers. Their pancakes are best enjoyed fresh when they are still crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. However, after an hour or more, they become soggy and too chewy. We loved their new taro/mochi flavor, which has just the right amount of sweetness. The black sesame pancake was generous in its filling but a bit too sweet for our taste. Their soy milk is always good and refreshing. Overall, it's a nice place for a quick bite, but be sure to eat the pancakes while they're fresh for the best experience.

Again and again, this place disappoints me. First of all, I asked for a grass jelly drink and it took them 10 minutes to serve me. Afterwards, it was 0% sugar instead of 100% sugar. The next day, I wanted to order something else. The staff literally ignored me without telling me if she was busy or to wait a while as she was flipping pancakes. I was just standing there, clueless, wondering if I could order or not. Extremely poor management.

Came here a few months ago for the pancakes โ€“ didn't really like them. However, I ordered the rice this time and it was quite good, plus the purple drink (have no idea what it's called) was quite nice too. Worth a try.

Visited on 15 Feb to grab some rice balls on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year. The aunty was very friendly, and the lady scooping the rice balls was efficient despite the long queues. My order was a little more complicated, but she got it all right. Love the black sesame rice balls and the super silky smooth bean curd. Yum yum!

Ordered the Icy Matcha Azuki Soya Milk. I couldn't taste the matcha flavor; it was just soy milk with green coloring. The chocolate pancake was not bad.

Came here for their black sesame pancake that really lives up to the hype! Love the super strong black sesame flavour; itโ€™s very close to pure black sesame paste, I would say, and not sweet at all, so definitely a must-try! I tried it without heating up or toasting (because I was lazy, lol), so the filling wasnโ€™t runny, but texture-wise it was still okay, not dry or clumpy! Hope they make it a permanent flavour.
