Amid the bustling lunch crowds at Amoy Street Food Centre, Naakin has carved out a reputation for serving authentic, Muslim-friendly Thai cuisine to the CBD working community. This Muslim-owned stall at 7 Maxwell Road keeps its offerings refreshingly simple with just three dishes - Pad Krapow (Basil Rice), Tom Yum, and Pad Thai - each available with various meat options and cooked fresh to order upon every request.
Operating Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 7:30pm, Naakin caters specifically to the office crowd seeking quality Thai flavours during work hours. The stall has become known for its constant queues, a testament to the authentic tastes that draw not just Muslim diners but a diverse cross-section of CBD workers. While the wait can be substantial during peak lunch hours as each bowl is individually prepared, regulars insist the fresh, vibrant flavours are worth the patience.
Despite being a humble hawker stall offering only three menu items, Naakin has earned a 4.0 rating on Tripadvisor and ranks among Singapore thousands of restaurants. The establishment proves that focus and quality trump variety, bringing the bold, balanced flavours of Thai cooking - sweet, sour, salty, and spicy - to the heart of Singapore financial district with halal assurance.

Not as fantastic as expected, based on the reviews. It was very odd to have the Basil Chicken with chunks of chicken instead of minced chicken. The Tom Yam Noodle was a tad on the sourish side, though the serving of ingredients was generous.

I really enjoy eating the tom yum soup with white rice and I always ask for spiciness level 3. The flavour of the tom yum tastes really authentic, like I'm in Thailand. You should try it; it's Halal. They also sell Pad Thai.

This stall at Amoy Street Food Centre is known for its constant long queues. Although it is a halal establishment, it's clear from the diverse patrons that the delicious food appeals to everyone.
The menu is kept simple and efficient, offering just 3 main items with optional top-ups to streamline the ordering process. I opted for the Tom Yum Chicken with rice, and added a fried egg, which came to S$7.40.
Each order is prepared fresh, so a short wait is expected, but it is well worth it. I chose the medium spiciness level and found it to be surprisingly spicy by Singapore standards, so please order a lower spice level unless you can take the heat! The tom yum tasted authentic and was very flavourful, with a light sweet note and loaded with mushrooms and chunky chicken breast. It is definitely not the typical pasty soup you get elsewhere.
I will definitely be back to try other items.

Yesterday, I took two metros and ran in the rain to get to this place to try their Tom Yum. When I'm in Singapore, I usually go to Amoy for my ginger tea at 5 am, before stalls are open. I quickly realized Naakin was different. It was so, so, so clean, and they were meticulous with their food. Once I tasted their Tom Yum, it was like angels were singing next to me. This isn't just another Thai place; it's the best Tom Yum I've ever had.
